So thinking about getting the annual pass... if I buy it today say would it be effective for today till today's date 2012 or would it start the day I use it??? I never remember :) We are planning on going in July for our honeymoon, but I want to buy them soon in case a code comes out for discount. We want to do the dinning plan and on the regular website you have to buy a pass. I am just trying to cover all my corners before we book! Thanks

It is good from the day you purchase it at the parks (or turn in a voucher for the actual pass at the parks) and runs for 366 days. Not counting leap year issues!

So a pass bought at the park on March 1, 2012 will be good through end of business on March 1, 2013.

BUT ... you don't need an active AP to book an AP rate room, or to purchase the ticketless AP package w/dining. You can't do it on the website, but you can do it on the phone. As long as you have an active AP for your trip dates, you will be fine (and you can go and purchase it on your check-in date as well).

so if I buy mine online today it wouldn't start today?? I would exchange it in when I get there in July :confused3 and it would start from July 6th?

If you buy online or over the phone, you will receive a voucher or a will call confirmation #. It will be effective the date you pickup the actual pass.

From the date you first use it. I bought our AP's back in June or July, right before the rate increase, and the first time we used it was for our trip last month and the expired date on our passes are October of next year.

This is because you had a voucher which you exchanged for an AP. It is 365 from the day that you purchase the actual AP ticket or exchange the voucher. In theory you could buy the actual AP at the front gate of the MK today and never enter into any of the parks but it would still expire 10 November 2012 so it really isn't from the date you first use it.

With a voucher the clock doesn't start ticking until you exchange the voucher for your actual AP.
