I hope this is the right place for this :confused3

I never even considered an AP to be an option, but today I was curious and started looking up things. How do I know if an AP would benefit me? We are planning to stay at wdw for 13-14 nights for our honeymoon. At least four of our days will be spent at off-site parks, but every other day we will be at disney; and we are staying at a wdw hotel for the entire trip. Should I consider an AP? Are there any guaranteed hotel discounts, or do I just have to hope for one at the time of our stay like I would for any other discount code? What are the typical/historical discounts for January? Does only one person need an AP to get the discounts, or do both parties need them? Sorry for all the questions, but like I said, I just started looking at AP's today. Thanks for any help!

There is a calculator on either www.mousesavers.com or www.allearsnet.com, I don't remember which, which will help you figure when it becomes cost effective, but this only takes into account the # of days in the park.. To get AP rates you only need for one person to have an AP. It's probably worth it for you if all of your honeymoon will be on site. AP rates are not guaranteed, but are fairly typical in January. We've stayed with AP rates in january a few times. The first time we used this we got just one AP for me to save on the hotel rates...it was definitely worth it. When we were there we upgraded all of my families tickests to APs. We figured that we go every year, so instead of waiting a whole year we would make our next vacation in 11 1/2 months so we could use the AP for two vacations!

Keep in mind that if you were planning on doing the DDP for your trip, you will have to have MYW tickets for both you and your DH, so if one of you buys an AP for the rates, you will have to buy at least a one day ticket for that person to get the DDP. Not sure if everyone in the room needs to have the same tickets though...

If you're looking at 13 or 14 nights onsite, and AP might be a great idea! Just the room savings would probably make it worthwhile, and as an AP holder you'd be able to purchase the DDE card, which would give you 20% off at most TS restaurants. :thumbsup2
