AP room rate question

I want to make certain that I have this correct --
If I get an AP and AP rates come out for Dec I can (based on availability) change my reservation to AP rate.

Do I need to have my AP in hand when calling about this or is a voucher good enough?

Also we are traveling with friends that will not have an AP --- can we get them a discount too?

If there is AP availability at the resort for your dates, yes you can apply the AP rate. And you do not have to have an AP or voucher to actually book the room. Also, you may book up to 3 rooms at the AP rate so as long as you accompanying your friends when they check in, they will also get the AP rate. HTH!!
