AP room discount and DDP

Just because we are AP holders doesn't guarantee any special resort rates. That's a crap-shoot year to year. In 2006 the well was dry there. The AP does allow us to buy the dining plans cheaper...we do the plan that is a straight 20% off and really appreciate those savings; and the AP gives you other discounts as outlined in the member literature. It's worth it to us:thumbsup2

With an AP you can get the DDE card which will give you 20% off most TS and also give you 20% off CS at AK restraunts and resort restraunts if they do not have a TS on premises (all the Values and POFQ). You can not get a discounted room with an AP and still buy the DDP however.

However the dde costs what $65 which means to break even on it much less start actually saving you have to spend over $325. That definitely can be easy to hit...but just thought I'd throw it in.

I dont know that the well was totally dry there.. we got a nice AP discount 65.00 off deluxes in October. Some months were without discounts.

And as far as i know you cant buy the dining plan with an AP room .... for rack rate or a discount.Only DVC can buy the dining plan at a discount with a room only ressie.

What youre reffering to i think is the DDP, Disney Dining Experience, which is a card that gets you a discount as already descibed above. We really saved money with that card, it was an average of 15 -20 dollars at every sit down meal so if paid itself off in about 3 TS meals.
