Hi all,

We have the Premium Annual Passports for DLR, and have been doing the flexpay for the payments. September will be our last payment, as our AP expires October 3rd. As I understand it, you can renew your AP up to 30 days prior/after your expiration date? What is the discount for renewing? Our payment amount will definitely be going due to the rise in prices, as well as the lack of a downpayment this time. When I renew, is there a downpayment required? Also, can I wait till the last day to renew (~Nov 2nd), and take advantage of the flexpay option, and avoid having a payment in October?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's a $20 discount for renewing...often not enough to justify the annual price increase that usually occurs. If you don't plan on going continuously, sometimes it's better to just let your AP lapse until you're ready for your next trip.

Also, you only get the discount if you renew PRIOR to the expiration. You can still renew in that window after it expires, but you'll lose the discount. It doesn't make sense to me to try to renew after the expiration because there is no discount and you'll your new expiration date will actually be a year from the old expiration date, not a year from your renewal... and that's no bueno!
If you're in that situation, just buy a brand new pass.

Thank you sonnyjane for your reply! I'm not that much concerned with the discount, seeing as it is not that much.

If I wait until 29 days after the expiration date, and renew, can I still take advantage of the monthly payments, without having to do a new downpayment? The reason I ask, is our last payment for this year's PAP will be coming out in a few days in September, and our passes expire October 3rd. If I wait until November to renew, I avoid having a payment in October, and the first payment of the renewal won't come out until November? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You'll need a new down payment, but I believe even with a renewal you still need to do a down payment. I don't know for sure but I believe that to be the case. :)

I believe that to be the case as well. You'll need a new down payment no matter what.

I am renewing my DH's AP today and saw this question. I am renewing prior to the expiration date because we have a trip in September planned, so I will take the $20 discount. :rotfl2:

Anyway, there is no down payment required for the renewal if I do the monthly payment plans. It says, "If Monthly Payment option selected, Monthly Payment Option is $0.00 down, $52.42 Monthly for 12 Months."

Hope that helps, OP. pixiedust:
