Hi -
I tried to ask my question on an already established AP thread, but it got lost in the mix. With regards to AP renewals, I know we're currently eligible for the $75
discount per pass......hoping it makes it to December. Do you still get the "traditional" renewal discount (10% I believe) on top of that or does the DVC discount trump the traditional discount? Last year we paid $361 and change for our renewal. Would like to know what I can expect to pay this December, assuming the DVC discount is still available. Thankd for the help!! :sunny:

We are entitled to only the $75 discount for a renewal. The price for an adult AP renewal w/DVC is $298.20, a child's is $253.47.

I went through this with MS when my AP expired in March. There is about a $20 difference in the renewal price verses buying a new AP. Since I wasn't planning anything until September I chose to let my old pass expire. I figured paying $20 more for a new pass was better than having it sitting around unused for 6 months. So now I will have a new expiration date and hopefully will get in enough trips. If you don't have any current plans you may want to delay getting your pass until you have a trip planned.

If you let your pass expire can you buy a new pass and not have it activated until you travel to disney world? My ap will expire in January and I will not be traveling until March, since we try to get at least three trips out of our aps I would like to let it run out and the buy a new pass. I am just worried that the discount will not be continued next year.

gabbysmom04,
You could purchase a voucher for a new AP and it would lock in the price of your AP (unless you've already purchased your limit of 8 for this year)... Then, you don't have to worry. :teeth:

I think that is what we will end up doing. No point in wasting a month or two of passes. I don't think the saving is that much to renew rather then to just let it expire.
