AP renewal ??? IS the cost worth it??

I have an AP that I got last NOv. for a trip. For the 8 days we were there it more than paid for itself with the money saved on our rooms. We were able to stay at the AKL for $200 a night. Needing 2 rooms(family of 2 adults & 6 kids) it made it able to stay in a deluxe!!

Now we are in the planning stages for an April trip. Can I expect AP raates again??

How do I renew the AP...how much do I save by renewing it before my "date"??

At the moment I don't know if we will need 2 rooms again in April. 2 older DD will be with the band...our reason for the trip...& DH may not be able to come. But even then we would need a room for 5...or 2 rooms.

I wouldn't renew it based totally on getting AP rates - they may or may not be available. I would probably wait and see if AP rates come out, and then if it is worth the $$ for the AP, I would buy one then.

The only answer we can give you for sure is "maybe". There is no way of knowing until you get much closer to the April time frame.

You will generally (but not always) get a letter in the mail about a month before your AP is due for renewal. You can renew it on the phone or by mail as well as at WDW. Renewal rate will save you $42.60.

As AirForceRocks said, you may be better served to pass up the $42.60 savings you would get from renewing and wait until you actually get a room with an AP rate reservation to buy a new AP. The advantage to that is that your AP won't start running until you actually go back to WDW and have the voucher activated. If you renew it, it will start running the day after your old AP expires.

Thanks guys! Your answers were what I expected...I partly asked to show my DH that I don't need to renew it now. I had also thought about the date bit & tried to explain it to him.

Luckily he realizes that I do ALL the planning & I was right! He even admitted it!! What a guy!!
