AP refund cheques?

We just received our give cheques for our AP refunds. They are of course drawn on a US bank, but no where on it does it say US funds. Just wondering how others fared when cashing these cheques. I imagine you couldn’t use the ATM but had to head to a teller? Three of the cheques are for my kids who don’t have bank accounts. What sort of wrinkle will this be? Any help and advice would be appreciated.

This is one of those times when I would say give the bank a call first,especially with Covid 19 they may have some good advice for you.
I recently tried to deposit a cheque (USD) through a ATM machine via Tangerine and it was refused.
I then deposited it into a Royal Bank ATM however I had to call the bank the next day as it went in as CAD and not USD. (It did register on the machine as USD).

Thank you Mel. Calling ahead is a good idea. They know us and that might perhaps smooth the way.
