Ap Rates--What did you get?

Thank you to everyone on this board and Mary at mousesavers.com. I haven't posted before. But, I've been watching with anticipation with all of you for the discounts. Bought my first AP pass today at the disney store. I was up early this morning calling and watching the board to see what everyone was getting. On hold forever. And while I wasn't able to apply a discount to my WL reservation for 11/7-11/9. I was able to get concierge level at AKL for 11/13-11/16 only 17.00 more a night than I was paying for a savanah room with a AAA discount. Also got ASMo for 3 nights then move to ASMu for 3 nights for a december trip at the 49.00 rate. Interesting thing about the december dates are that a week ago Movies AAA rate was sold out but I was able to book them for the first 3 days of my stay with AP rate.

Ok check this out guys.. Here is a running log of what happened to me yesterday..

7 AM EST- DU agent calls in to see if she can get 10/22 to 10/26 WL Woods View which is reserved at Rack Rate $283.21 per night for the 4 nights.

7:17 AM EST- Get email from DU that no AP Rates available for my dates.

9:30 AM - Crazy busy at work. Finally write back to DU agent.. Ask her to switch gears and find out what AP Rates are available for 10/22 to 10/26 for any Deluxe MK resort. Looking for GF, POLY, Contemporary, or WL try again.

10:05 EST - Get email back from DU agent. No availability at any Deluxe MK resort for 10/22 to 10/26

...Ok at this point I am somewhat PO'ed.. How could there be nothing at any MK deluxe I'm thinking!!

Somewhere between 10:05 and 11:00 EST.. I call CRO and decide to try to change current ressie myself. What could I lose!!I get through to CRO. I give her the ref # of my DU ressie. She seems puzzled and asked if I had made this ressie through a Travel Agency. I said yes I did and I want to check for myself about Deluxe MK resort AP rate availability for 10/22 to 10/26. She then kind of alludes to fact that its somehow different because they made the res or something.. At this point I don't care really I just want to know if there is anything available... So I change gears and say ok, I want to make a new reservation.. Please check 10/22 to 10/26 and see if there are any AP room rates available for Mk resorts.. Voila. All of a sudden there appears AP rates for Poly and GF!! It was as if because I was making a new ressie that things had changed!! So weird.

I reserve Poly GV $227.50 per night for 4 nights. $55 off rack rate at WL Woods view.. Saving $220 yet also upgrading to Poly.

12:01 PM EST - I write back to DU agent that I got Poly AP rate for 10/22 to 10/26. Booked ressie and we can figure out logistics later cause I just wanted to have it..

12:36 PM EST - Get email back from DU agent. Is going to call and find out what the deal is. Feels bad. At this point I am thinking its definitely not her but Disney!!!

12:45 PM EST - Get another email from DU agent. Still cannot get any AP Rate 10/22 to 10/26 for my exisiting ressie. When asks if any MK resorts have AP rate availability is told there is none!! Get two diff agents onto phone explaining what I wrote above as well as a supervisor and they can't seem to give an explanation.

Net-Net I am happy I at least got some discount. I gotta wonder here folks if new ressies are treated differently than existing. I can't figure out any explanation as to why in the middle of the morning I could get AP rates for Deluxe MK resorts on my dates while the whole time my DU agent couldn't. Also wondering if they treat Travel Agency ressies different than people who made theirs on their own.
That was my experience!! Did anyone experience anything similar? Comments?

Our trip is 11/27 (Thanksgiving day) thru 12/6. We had booked a rack rate concierge room, with the hope that discounts would follow. A week or so ago, we changed to Winter Dream Maker, but had to leave Thanksgiving Day at rack rate due to it being a blackout date.

I called this morning, and spoke with a very helpful CM. She indicated that there was no AP rate for Thanksgiving day, of course, nor for the next day. She then booked 11/29-12/6 at the AP rate, and split the first two days into their own reservation. She applied the Disney Club rate to those days (I had previously been told it was not available on Thanksgiving).

So, a word of encouragement from me... Keep trying! And, if you get a CM who is less than helpful, try again. I literally told a woman I spoke with last week that I'd call back, not to make any changes, because she was not very helpful and scared me a little that I'd end up with no ressie at all!!!

Hi there, I was able to get Polyn. LV concierge 12/25-1/04...We need 2 rooms and were able to book without any difficulty.. There was quite a bit of availability at different resorts for that time period.
We are Dvc members but will use points at another time. We love the Polynesian and will stay there every chance we get!!!
I didn't expect there would be any dicounts and we were going to go no matter what but I am very pleased that they offered them

Was able to get $49 rate at ASMu for 11/21-11/23 pre-cruise stopover! Booked through DU.

We were able to get All Star Movies for 49 a night, Dec 14-21. I was really shocked that there was any available at Movies. Even the CM was shocked.

Yesterday, all I could get was the second resort of my stay at the AP rate. When I called back today I got four of the five days at AKL at AP rate! Here is what I got:

Nov. 8-13 @ AKL: THe 8th @ AAA disc.= $260
(sav. view) The 9th-13th @ AP disc= $687

Nov. 13-16th @ BC: @ AP disc.= $700
(W/V)

All of these prices include tax.

I saved about $1000! And I plan to spend it all on nice restraurants, shopping, and possibly a first class flight!

Just called - the AP rates looked so good, that I had to have one more trip on my current AP!

I was on hold about 10 minutes (listening to Lion King!) and got a great CM. She found my dates at the AP rate on the first try taking about ten seconds - 6 nights at Caribbean Beach Oct 2 - 8, at $99 a night standard room! That was easy! I guess early October is not too busy!

It would have been nice to get that $79 a night, but October is regular season and the prices are slightly higher - but still great!!!!!!

I also got my tickets to MNSSHP for Oct 3 and 5!! Never been before this time of year! I better find a costume!

Dreams was able to get me a $171 night tax included for AKL Savannah view for 3-7 December. (AP)

Disneybud, same thing happened to us yesterday. We also had the Dream package thru a travel agent. But since I knew the AP rates were going to be so hot I asked my DH to start calling himself - forget the travel agent and the reservation - see what you could do. She he did. He was on the phone - just on hold for 45 mins. It took about 4 hours to finally reconfigure our vacation in Dec. but we did and saved alot of money.

I got home and the travel agent e-mailed me letting me know that she could not get any AP rates on my reservation and was sorry. I said that is ok - my DH did it and we are all set. She was shocked.

So we canceled our dream package which was:

2 nights AKL Concierge, 6 nights CT Club

Our new and improved AP Pkg is:

3 nights AKL Concierge, 5 Nights RPC GF

The AKL savings was amazing - we got three nights for a few hundred dollars less than the two nights . But the only way to get the AP rate was to book another night at the AKL.

Now we have to change a few PS but boy is it worth it! Very happy here in NJ!

ok sorry I am so dense...with the winter dream rate for POR is worked out to about 80 a night( minus the cost of pass ). from the ap rate on mousesavers it ooked about the same......now are people getting better rates than that or not? a little confused about what is going on here. i realize the seasons could be different and if you already have an ap it would be cheaper but i would have to buy one and the additional pass. it seems like it is about the same price as winter dream but am I wrong ?

Was staying at the Beach Club - standard view - for $289 + tax for 2 nights in Dec. Switched to the Yacht Club - water view - for $244/night including tax.

DD's are happy they'll still get to use the great pool!!!

Called twice yesterday with no luck on any AKL reservation - one CM pulled and said for my dates (Nov 21-30) there were no rooms available anywhere for the AP rate. Ended up booking AKL Concierge at rack rate (YIKES!) and would keep trying. $4257 for trip.

Called this morning and got a great CM who after searching and searching and putting me on hold over and over again, got me down to a deluxe pool view at AKL, no concierge for less than $2000!

Now I need to keep trying to get back the concierge service with a savannah view - at least I got the resort I wanted!

As we would have to purchase the AP to get these rates, and also purchase a DQ and water park pass for the vacation, the winter dream package still works out best for my family.
