OK...I am sort of new here. Lurked for the last two years, occasional reply here and there...etc... One of the NJ Legal crew and full on Disney Maniac since I was 5 (30 years ago). Lucky for me I married a DW who is equally "goofy" and we have two DS (5 and 3) who are obsessed.

We went in Sept of 2006 for 7 nights at the Poly with the in-laws. Pure Heaven. But I made the big mistake of buying the DS's the "Magic Kingdom" boardgame for Christmas. It is like a box of Disney Commercials with a Monopoly type card for each ride. They "force" me to play it 2 times a night and have been begging to go back to Mickey. So, in the interest of family harmony we are going to simply wake them up on 4/29 and whisk them off to the MK for 7 nights.

Now on to the reason for this post: The story of the booking:

I started out with my normal travel agent, TravelMagic, two women in NJ who are certified Disney, blah, blah, blah. I have used them twice and they are the best. In looking at this trip, the price was going to be a lot more than our September trip to the Poly with free dining. I still wanted a Deluxe with the MK acess and looked at the Wilderness Lodge which people raved about. With air (which from NJ is ridicously cheap, 200 pp rt), tix and dining (I thought the dining plan was a great value last year) total was a bit pricy for me. So I (reluctantly) looked at Port Orleans and Coronado. I like Cor's location better a reduced price, but one that I thought was still high for a mod resort.

Then I started reading about the AP's and the Code. I called, with no postcard or pin #, but was told I had a code attached to my account/name. When I got my Travel Agent's involved with the code (a whole different fiasco...as Disney would not let them use my code at first) they got me Fort Wilderness with a Courtyard Bunk Bed for a reduced fee (about 300) and Coronado for about the same less. I chose Coronado. Thought the 700 difference was better spent in the park.

Well then the AP rates came out. They were no help price wise as the cost was essentially the same and I prefer the dining plan. But I asked about WL woods view which is what I wanted and lo and behold there was an opening and I got that reso and saved 650 dollar over our original booking. Awesome. So, I just wanted to say thanks to all the posters who put up info about rates, AP's. You all helped me out a ton. This board is great.

If you are in WL from 4/29 to 5/6 and see a 6 foot tall man with a Yankees cap on and a way too good looking blonde DW and two crazy DS's..say hi.
:cool1: :thumbsup2

So all in all a happy ending and I can't wait..two months to go.

Thanks for sharing your story and I'm glad you were able to save some money! Hope your family has safe travels and a magical trip!
