I called just now to get the Chase Visa rate. The CM did that for me, then I said that I was really waiting for the AP rates. She said they were just out this am. I had to change from The Contemporary - $1235.90 (Garden Wing, Garden View) to the Grand Floridian ($1289.26 Garden View) for 4 nights. The Contemporary only had concierge level available. Just to let everyone waiting for 2012 AP rates know that they are out, at least for early in the year.

Not yet on the AP holder's website. Only through December.

I just called and was told AP discounts had not been released yet for Jan-Feb. She did say to check back in a couple of days (maybe Wednesday).:confused3

I had to make a few calls anyways, one to make a payment on my reservation, one to get the phone number for the AP line because I needed to get my cc# changed, and one to AP line to get it changed, and on all three calls I asked the CM and they said nothing was released but to try again midweek. Oh well.... I will keep checking the AP website.

Weird. The CM asked for for my AP number and I told her I had the voucher only.

This is from the email sent today.

Looks like you snuck in before they figured out they released it early.

I calculated it out and it is a 40% discount.

Calculating an estimate for my trip..... ;-)

Thanks!

I called Monday for the visa discount which is 35% for deluxe...the wonderful CM told me to call back on Wed. for the passholder discount which would be better than visa's. He said he couldn't tell me what it was but that it would be better. So I am thinking 40% too!! :thumbsup2

I just called and was again told the AP discount was not yet available for booking and it would probably come out Wed with the GP discount.

I've never called on the day of a discount release, so I'm not sure what to expect. Is it going to be insane trying to get through? Do these rates sell out quickly? The lines open at the exact time I am busy trying to get my kids ready for school and on the bus.

I have an existing reservation at the Poly but want to replace it with either the GP or AP discount tomorrow (I'm still crunching the numbers and trying to figure out our best option). I am debating whether or not to purchase an AP for DH and me because we'll be going back later in the year but only for a few days. Not sure if it's worth it.

:goodvibes I called at 7:20am, and I got through, after a 30 minute wait!

I was able to upgrade from POFQ garden view to WL courtyard view for only $25 more a night!!!!

AP discounts are on the website now.

Jan 2 through March 8th, better rate if you book Dec. 3 or earlier.

Were you able to get through on the website? I can get to the Passholder offers, but when I click to "check availability" I get an error message. :confused3 Been trying all morning and now it's almost noon. Calling will have to wait.

I was able to log in, just now and pull up the offers, and got to it.

If you would like I can check your dates if you have something specific in mind? Pm me, if you want to.

Does anyone know what the AP discount is for Poly in Jan.? I booked the GP discount for Poly GV CL for Jan. 3 for 4 nights. Total is $1803.38. We are considering getting APs since we will most likely returning in Oct. Trying to figure out what to do.

I think the GP discount at Poly is 30% and AP is 40% but I did not explicitly ask about that hotel when I called. I would call in and ask them to give you a quote on the AP rate and compare it to what you have. If you have two trips planned in 1 year an AP is usually cheaper than 2 tickets especially if you like to get Park Hoppers. Good luck.

I am considering buying an AP to get the 40% room discount for my trip in February. I read the following info on this site:

"You’ll need to have an Annual Pass when you check in if you booked the room with the discount. (Only one of you needs to have this pass.) It must be a “room only” reservation. You can’t book a package and exclude the Annual Passholder from participating in it. "

Does this mean that by using the AP discount I would not be able to add park tickets and a dining plan to the reservation at all? Or does it mean that we could, but I would still have to purchase the same park tickets for myself even though I would already have a season pass? Just wondering how people make this work.

You can add the dining plan to your reservation. However, you would have to buy tickets seperately, only if you need them. And if you for sure want the dining plan, make sure to get it put on when you book. If you try to add it later, you will have to cancel your reservation and rebook and may not be able to get the AP rate later on down the line.
