Does anyone else feel these AP rates are not a good deal? Compared to Jan and Feb it seems rates are going up 30 to 50%.

Value at $74, Moderate at $104, AKL Savannah View $199, Wilderness Standard at $154, etc.

That is typically higher due to school vacations etc. If you look at the different seasons I believe you will find the same. Wish I could tell you different. :wizard:

That is true plus the Jan/Feb codes were out I believe before they announced the new MYW tickets and packages. I am sure that Disney wants as many people as possible to purchase the new packages so maybe they reduced the discount.

That is because by President's Day it becomes a peak season. Spring Breaks, Easter, etc. If you saw the rack rates for that time you wouldn't say that those discounts suck. You can't compare that at all to January and early February which are historically slow times.

I'm going Easter week. I am just thankful that there ARE discounts. It's peak season (never been during peak season) and when the crowds are high, there's no need to discount anything. The law of supply and demand. :flower:

That is why I only travel in Value Season now. You can pay almost $150 more PER night for the same room in a Deluxe resort from Value Season to Peak Season. Crazy! :guilty:

That season is Peak Season & the rates have always been higher. Usually from President's weekend until the week (maybe 2) after Easter is when you will see the higer rates. That is the one time of year that I do not stay on property. I cannot see paying $109/79 for a moderate/value when I can get it for $79/49 in Jan or May??? I am staying at the Sports next weekend for $49 per night. Presidents weekend, I plan on going thru Priceline to save some money. :smooth:

You can't possibly think that the discount rates during VALUE season will be the same as the discount rates during PEAK season. Actually I did the math:

Pop/value season is $77 a night (ends Feb/Prez weekend). AP rate is $49, making it 36% off.

Pop/peak season is $109 a night (begins Prez weekend and runs until April 16th). AP rate is $74, making it 32% off.

I don't see that the discounts are too far apart.

I agree with Misit, this is why I only go to WDW during Value and Regular seasons when the rates are better.

I think when the next round of discounts comes out after April 16th (when the season changes from Peak to Regular), the rates will be better--probably $59 a night at Pop. Basically the percentages are about or near the same, it's just the price of the rack rates that changes.

I remember when the AP rates came out for Jan-Feb '05 that people were posting that they were only about $10 less/night than the general public room-only rate.

We have the room-only BDP rate for our Easter-time trip, and the difference between that and the AP rate is also slightly less than $10/night.

So no big surprises here.:flower1:
