AP Rates for AFTER August 4th are...........

Nothing today. The CM I had basically told me to "get a life" and learn to sleep in.

I just hung up on her.

Oh well, next week...same "bat time" same "bat channel".

Have a good weekend everyone.

Did she really say that? My goodness! I called yesterday to make dining ressies and had a less than magical CM. I stayed on the line for the survey so that I could express my "thoughts."

I'm waiting too. I should probably book since I already booked flights. I've never done that before, but Southwest had that "too good to pass up" deal earlier this week flying straight into Orlando from Columbus for $30 each way. Couldn't let that go. Now I sit and wait for discount codes.

Is that deal with Southwest over? Did you get a "ding"?

TIA:thumbsup2

Happy Friday!

It sounds like some of the early CMers need a little pixie dust pixiedust: and Starbucks :coffee:

There was a lot of noise last night with thunder, wind and lightening, but no rain. We live in an area with lots of trees and I always worry about high winds. I found a few large branches had broken off, but at the least the trees are still in tact.

I'll be checking in next week for an update :goodvibes have a great weekend!

It was a ding a few days ago. Lasted most of that day but I didn't mess around. Booked them at noon. They are still having dings for August, but the best I've seen since then is around $50 one way. Still not too bad. Hope you find something good!

Still waiting, too.... maybe I'd better book with AAA discount. It's better than nothing and at least it's value season.

Does anyone know if I book with a AAA discount and the AP codes come out if I can change codes? I know they might not be available for the same hotel I book. I'm willing to change to get the deal, I just want to be sure I can do that.

I always book a resort before I purchase my airfare. I almost always book with AAA at first and then switch over to AP when/if it becomes available. The only time I was able to switch to AP was for my Oct 05 trip when they started the best rate program. I was very I had the AAA discount already on the room as it was sold out by the time I knew I wouldn't get an AP rate.

I called today (saturday) and was told that it would be "at least 3 weeks" before they release AP/FL rates for after 8/4.

I really hope that's wrong.

Me too..but I broke down today and booked a AAA rate at the Yacht Club. Not a terrible deal..but I sure would like an AP deal! To put it into perspective, I originally booked an offsite (Marriott Grande Lakes) as my fallback and the difference between that rate and my YC rate is about $350 for five nights. Even if we don't get an AP rate, that price is worth it for me for us to be onsite and have SAB as our playground, Epcot as our front yard and the Boardwalk as our backyard.

How much is the AAA discount? Is it worth buying over rack rate if an AP doesn't come out for the resort I want (AKL)? We don't have AAA but I'd buy it if it's worth it.

I was looking at MouseSavers last night and there really does NOT seem to be a pattern for when AP rates will come out.

In 2004...check-in 7/5/04-8/28/04 for Annual Passholder room-only rates became available 5/5/04...check in 8/29/04-9/29/04 for Annual Passholder room-only rates became available 8/5/04.

In 2005... check-in 7/5/05-8/27/05 for Annual Passholder room-only rates became available 5/4/05...check-in 8/28/05-10/4/05 for Annual Passholder room-only rates became available 6/1/05.

In 2006...check-in 8/6/06-8/26/06 for Annual Passholder room-only rates became available 6/8/06...check-in 8/27/06-9/30/06 for Annual Passholder room-only rates became available 7/12/06

In 2007...yet to be determined.

So...IMHO there really isn't a pattern. I guess we just all have to keep checking and keep posting!!!

I'd make sure AKL was offering a AAA discount before doing it. We already had AAA so it was a no brainer. Rack rate being offered was 315 plus taxes and the AAA rate was 267.75 plus taxes.
