AP rate reserved, need to cancel one night--WHAT!?

This is strange...

I have POLY reserved for 5 nights in 01/07, AP rate. I need to cancel my first night because airfare is much cheaper flying in one day after I originally planned.

Now I only need the last 4 nights of my original ressie.

I checked the AP site, just now. **I'm not adding any nights, only removing the first one.** My dates aren't available for the 4 remaining nights only? But when I check original 5 nights--they are still available. Almost like POLY has a 5 night minimum stay for AP rate for my week?

So, does anyone know if I can just call CRO and cancel the first night without cancelling the whole ressie?

There is/are a few blackout dates in January for the AP rate. Perhaps your "new" first day is one of them? that would cause the unavailability of the dates for the full stay. Don't know this for a fact.. but it is a possiblity.. to be sure, I would def call CRO and ask them.

Have seen that before myself both in reading others experience on these boards and having hit this before myself. Some resorts seem to set these minimum stays on getting ap rates. Had to switch resorts when it happened to me.

You might try checking to see if AAA discount available for the 4 nights if you have AAA.

I tried to do this last year. They told me I can take a night off the end of a reservation, but not the beginning. Otherwise, you need to make a whole new reservation. I do not know if this still the policy. It is upsetting when you just want to knock off that first night. Good luck!
