Forgive me for my search function doesn't seem to be working right now, but do you have to purchase an annual pass any certain time in advance before the annual pass rates are released? I have been doing some math with this years rates (I'm going to Disney next Jan) and it seems practical for me to purchase an annual pass (also for the dining discount becuase I don't think the dining plan is for me) and I'm wondering if I have to have the pass for any certain amount of time before I can reap the benefits of the rates and codes! :rotfl:

You can purchase your AP anytime, as long as you have it when you check into your resort. You can use the AP Exchance Certificate (what they send you, looks like a plastic card, until you redeem it for an AP at any guest service locations at the parks or DTD) to check in as well. Sometimes they do ask that you stop back by the desk with the activated AP to ensure you are an AP holder. As for the DDE card - I ordered mine about 2 months before we left. You will need to have your AP or at least the AP exchange Certificate before you can purchase the DDE card.

Thanks so much Chadsgirl!!! That was going to be my next question about the DDE because I am thinking about doing that as well. The AP rate (will hopefully!) be worth it since I want to go next January in a slow season! Thanks again for the help!!! :thumbsup2
