What I found interesting was that there was a minimum stay on the weekends. As an AP holder since 1995, this was a first for me. There are alot of us DVC holders who like to get an AP rate for one night before moving to our DVC home. It will be interesting to see how this works now and in the future.

I saw a post from someone else who rec'd the discount for just one night, however I don't know which day. I would think you would be ok since you are kinda doing a split stay. But regarding one night stays, they were really starting to bug me. We are going 06/09-15 and I was blocked out of several resorts (CSR, ASMovies) because of no availability on Wednesday night???? I admit this is a pretty much last minute trip as we booked inside the 45 days. I keep wondering why Wednesday?? Maybe cruises? Since AP rates come out pretty much last minute anyways, it is surprising that they have added that restriction. Just thinking out loud . . . .

Anyone else have problems accessing the passholders website. I accessed once, got all the way to the confirmation and then... nothing! Since then, I can't get in...:sad1:

I suspect the minimum stay is to keep DVC members from using the passholder discount for just Friday and Saturday nights. If you AP Fri and Sat and then use points for Sun-Thu, you get a week for something like 45 points + $310 as opposed to 123 points (off the top of my head) or $1155 +tax.

Put another way, the AP rate is (arguably) the better deal for weekend nights and DVC points are the better deal for weeknights. Disney is saying pick one or the other, but don't mix and match.

I thought that too, but did go on the AP website and put in a reservation for a one night Saturday stay and it went through with no problem (just a test, didn't actually put the cc number in at the end). I did a Saturday arrival checking out on Sunday and it went fine. Not sure why they put this comment in, but it worked for me. I guess we'll have to wait and see if this gets tweaked.

At least for my date, a 1 night Saturday stay is allowed. I called and talked with someone and they had no problem giving me the prices for check-in 6/9 and check-out 6/10. They had availability at the:

Yacht Club Standard Room for $302.62 (incl tax)
Beach Club Pool or Waterview Room for $393.75 (incl. tax)
Old Key West Standard Room for $184.50 (incl. tax)
Saratoga Springs Standard Room for $184.50 (incl. tax)

Okay, now someone convince me that I need to try out one of these resorts for my one-night no-kids-or-hubby-getaway. I'm booked at the Grand Floridian Garden View for @ $435 (AAA rate)

I'm booked - we're doing a split stay with friends at OKW and needed somewhere a day sooner and the weekend in between, got two studios at OKW for $184.50 (tax incl) for a Sat. night, and then two studios for same price for Fri & Sat in between - so excited!!!1
:woohoo:

I just booked over phone for 1 SAT. nite in JUNE OKW studio @ $184. Maybe $164 is for MINIMUM NITE STAYS???

Hi! Wondering if you got a $164 or $184 rate for the 1 nite??

Value season for Deluxe resorts starts on July 8, so there will be a price difference between June and July/August stays. Wish I were going. . . .

I booked for 6/9 at SSR studios for $184.50, including tax. I'm pretty sure they told me the pre-tax rate was $164, so that might be some of the confusion.

I got 3 standard rooms at the Beach Club for June 8-10...$302.00/night each including tax    :dance3: :dance3:

Taking DH's family for the rest of the stay to OKW, but this will be a very nice treat to start the vacation :woohoo:

CRO booked me at $184.50 + Tax. I saw some others posters talking about $164.50 + Tax????? Guess I'll call back tomorrow. Not that it would change my mind...just wanna be sure! Thanks!

I'm not positive, but think the price difference is that June is regular season and July is value season (for the delux resorts), so prices are lower therefore a lower rate is available. JMHO.

$35.00 a night for a moderate is not much better than the AAA discount that I already have. I could be wrong though. I need to go back and check

I booked SSR studio for the end of June and the AP rate before tax is $164...after tax it's $184.50. HTH

I've been told by different agents that whenever there's a discount the "computer system" favors longer stays and that by adjusting dates the discount will sometimes show as available vs. if it's a shorter stay. I think that's what the message regarding the AP discount is referring to but it doesn't mean you'd never be able to get just a 1-2 night stay, just that those stays may be limited. As a business I'd think they'd want to encourage longer stays by everyone. I don't think it has anything to do with DVC members choosing only a prenight or two since they are also contributing revenue but if a certain percentage of people book only for Fri/Sat, this leaving no availability for another party who wants the entire week then that's when it would be limited just to ensure availability for those who want a longer stay. JMHO- Kathy
