AP rate $179 at DLH - is this good?

I called and booked the DLH for April 23-28 and got the "AP" rate of $179. I was all excited until I added in the $11.50 resort fee and saw other posts about the existence of a $159 rate. Also the additional cost of a Deluxe AP adds about $20 per night. Our family is definitely on a budget and so this would be a huge stretch and big deal for us. Mainly I would love this hotel b/c DH has a broken ankle which will be healing and so we'll be spending a lot more time at the hotel than usual. So the idea of sitting at the wonderful pool while the kids play and ordering tropical drinks is VERY appealing!

One thing I'm wondering is whether it would be better to call back and request the "AP5" or "AP6" rate? I forgot to request that exact term. Our dates are somewhat flexible - I'm just trying to check in by 4/24 in order to use the 3 for 5 PH's.

Any thoughts on whether this is a pretty good deal? I don't have an AP yet and so can't check the site. I don't mind calling back to check rates and will plan on doing so every few days I think.

I think the $159 ends 3/6/08 and $179 sounds right for your stay.

$179 is a good rate. Especially for the DLH, it sounds like that might be the AP rate. Call back and ask, if you get a better quote do it, if not don't. They don't have to know you've already got ressies.
