AP questions

in reading over the info at mousesavers.com,
i am really thinking of having my DH or I buy a AP. is it true that only one member of teh travel group has to have a AP to get the dicount ? same thing when making the reservation? you dont need to have the pass in hand when you call to make the reservation???


do you reccomend this ? are the AP rates lower then reg " for anybody " rates? are there ever AP rates for january ? 2nd- 7th?

we are thinking about this for the discounts etc.....it would work out ( i used the tool on mousavers) equal or even saving $$ for us if 1 person bought the AP .....

Yes, it's true that only one member of your traveling party needs to have an AP in order for your group to get AP discounts on rooms and food. The passholder must be the one to reserve the rooms and must be present at checkin. Each passholder can book up to 3 rooms per stay.

You can reserve the rooms with an AP discount without having an AP (or even a voucher) in you possession at the time. You may be asked to show the AP at checkin.

The savings with an AP can be substantial. Sometimes they aren't any better than those offered to the general public but there will be a block of rooms set aside for AP holders that will be eligible for discounts. The general public cannot reserve those rooms with their codes.

My advise would be to not purchase your AP until you have a room ressie with AP discount. Don't purchase the passes assuming that the discounts will be available when you want to go. Get the reservation first.
