We are considering upgrading our 4 day park to park tickets to preferred APs. Our first day of ticket usage is 12/28 and last day will be 12/31. I know I have to do it prior to using the 4th day. My questions are: 1. Will the AP date start from the day I starred using my 4 day tickets (12/28) or from the day I upgrade (12/30)? and 2. I know early entry has black out dates, is that a non issue if we are staying onsite?

I have never upgraded tickets...
You need to do it before you exit on the fourth day. The AP will start on the day from your first use of tickets. No issue for EE if staying onsite. All 5 resorts offer it.
