AP Questions

I was wondering if I was the only person in our party to have an AP, is the dining discount applied only to me? or the whole bill, (if I am paying) I am just trying to figure out whether an AP is a good idea for an out-of-towner, that might come twice in a year. It sounds like a good deal, but what do all you APers say? Are the discounts worth it? Or just a nice bonus...

We get it for the entire bill. We even paid seperately at the Blue Bayou and we got the discount still for everyone.

Discounts are for your party.

Look at the number of times you're likely to go inside of a 365 day period, and what tickets you would buy. Compare that to the cost of a Deluxe or Premium AP. Figure out how the cost works out for you.

We only meant to go twice in one year (we figured one 5 day trip and one 1 day trip!) and the cost absolutely made more sense for APs vs buying tickets as we went.

Of course, then I got the "bug", and just look at my signature... It's the one little pitfall of getting an AP...

Thanks for your help, I am kinda a newbie at all of this. If I have already purchased my hoppers, I can upgrade them at the park once I get there right?

Yep! That's how we got our APs. Had 5 day hoppers, and upgraded on the 3rd day. Just went to the "bank", gave them our info, paid the difference between the APs and the hoppers, had pictures taken, and we were done! Walked away with APs and info about where to use them in hand!

Yes, you can upgrade your Park Hoppers when you get there. I'm not sure where you're from, but we are from Northern CA and we have Prem. AP's. They are definately worth it for us! With the Prem, you get 15% off of all meals and 10% on merchandise. Plus you get the free parking. There are also other discounts in DTD. We use it for the movie theater all the time. It is also so much easier to visit the park with an AP, in the fact that you are not worried about what day you are going to use your ticket for, or if you only go in for an hour or so on any given day because you can come and go as you please!
