I've been trying to find the thread about AP's and i cant seem to find it. :confused3

Well iam thinking of purchasing a AP next time i go, as im thinking this could work out a lot cheaper in the long run.

Is it right that if i purchase a Dream AP my DD will get one free? If she wont get one for free how much do they cost for Children who are 3.
Can i apply by post & if so where do i order the form to do so.

Im thinking of applying by post if possible Nov time so i can use it next year and get room only rates on the hotels.

Hope that makes sense, any advice would be greatfully recieved. :goodvibes

I think the free AP for children finishes at the beginning of April. If thats the case go to the sponsoring thread and if someone sponsors you, you will get 10% off.

I'm not sure if you can order one through the post, if you can it will be valid from the day you buy it not when you go, so you are better off buying them when you next go.

I don't know how much a child's AP is.

Thanks for that.
I may just purchase them on the last day at the park in september if that offer runs out in April.

Just found out that childs AP is the same as a adults.

Does anywhere know where i can get room only rates as expedia is quoting me rooms with tickets included and if i get my AP i dont need tickets included.

Expedia are a bit hit and miss for room only rates for Disney hotels at the moment - obviously occupancy is up on last year, and so Expedia are getting less availability on those hotels.

If you can't find room only rates on Expedia for the hotel and dates you are looking for, why not phone Disney direct and ask them for room rates? You could tell them you have a Dream Ap already, to get an idea of what the cost would be? You will not be under any pressure to book a room at that rate, you are only enquiring. And you wouldn't be able to book anyway, as you don't have your AP yet :goodvibes .

You need to be aware that the room only rates quoted by Disney direct are subject to availability and season also, so some dates will be much cheaper than others. For example, in November 2007 (Christmas season but low season for Disney) Expedia were showing room only rates for the Santa Fe at £40 per night, and the Cheyenne for £55 per night. I booked the Cheyenne with my dream AP, and got it for £47 per night with Disney direct (the Santa Fe was sold out when I went to book it). I've found some room only rates on Expedia for the Santa Fe for June this year, and they are showing at around £60 per night.

Thanks for that Elaine.
Do you get extra room discount for having a Dream AP?
I want to stay in DLH so i want to get it as cheap as possible :rotfl:

If you have a Dream AP and use it to book room only at a Disney hotel, you are entitled to at least 10% off the room only price, and you can get up to 30% off (but as I said, thats all subject to availability, season etc). I've found, that once you find a CM on the phone who has a clue about AP's and the room only discounts (not all of them do), they are quite happy to quote you whichever hotels/dates you are interested in.

Are you sure Emma?
I tried it, and can only see options for park and park hopper tickets?
Annual Passes need to be validated, and they need your photograph on them.

They have the option for all the AP's and they send you a temporary pass and you then take it to the AP office in exchange for the permenant one.

I wouldn't rely on the 10% discount with a dream AP. I didn't get any discount when I booked a room in the Sequoia Lodge in December. I was told that the discount was subject to availablity. I had originally wanted to book a lake view room, but as they wouldn't give me discount I checked a montana room. It all worked out very well in the end because when we booked in we were given a great room - massive bed, great view & a balcony/outside area about the same size as the room. Pity it was the middle of December and too cold to sit out! I'd love to have this room in summer. Here are some photos:

Thats a well nice view.
If i dont get a room discount ill still save more by getting a room only i guess.

What a fabulous view, Karen. :thumbsup2

Emma, I think if you buy temporary APs in advance you have to have them validated to permanent ones within 30 days.

That would be ok, i would buy them a few weeks before i was due to go.
But i may check when i next go Dlrp.

Thanks for all your help guys :)

why dont you get sponsored instead ? :confused3

you get 10% off and the sponsor gets extra months on their AP

a win win situation for both parties :)

I would do that but im going back to the magic in September and i cant get a AP for my DD til the october which was why i was going to apply online for them.

Why dont you get yours in September (sponsored by someone) then you've got that to book room only. Then get DDs next time you go and you'll be able to sponsor her. It means yours will run out first but it also means you have more time to save for the other one

ooooh i could do that.
:thumbsup2

Obviously doing it like this means you wouldnt be able to take advantage of any Child AP free offers that may come along but at the moment it looks as though thats finishing April anyhow
