AP question

Is there a way to find out the AP hotel rate without purchasing the pass. We are debating purchasing one for our trip in March 1-6 but I need to know that the rate would be to decide if it is worth it and on the site you need to enter your AP number now. Also, if I purchase it now in order to get the rate does by year start now or the the first day that I use it. TIA

I don't think the special AP spring rates have come out yet. In the meantime, Disney will offer the standard 10% discount to AP holders. You do not have to have an AP to make a hotel reservation with the AP discount. You can call Disneyland hotel booking and ask to book at the AP rate, whatever it is, and inform them that you will be purchasing your AP at the hotel desk or online prior to coming to the hotel or whatever, but you do not need to have the AP in hand to book; you will need to have it when checking in though.

If you buy an AP online, the start date will be your day of first use at the park. Carefully read the documentation though when you redeem your voucher for your actual AP. There have been some problems with back-dating APs occasionally. Just make sure your expiration date is one year after your date of first entry.

Hmmm, the AP special is supposed to end 2/29, but the calendar continues through March, though at higher prices. For March 1-6 I'm seeing:

Paradise Pier - 225 weekdays, 261 F/S

DLH - 293 weekdays, 347 F/S

GCH - 356 weekdays, 414 F/S


All for standard rooms - view and concierge are higher. Doesn't sound real "special" to me. Perhaps longtimedisneylurker is right, and the "real" AP rates aren't out yet for March.

ETA - you don't need to purchase an AP now to get the AP rate. Just call and ask for it. They'll check your AP when you check into the hotel.
