I've tried searching, but keep getting "no results" back. I'm thinking I'm not using the right terms. ;)

Right now I have a SoCal Select pass (the cheapest and most blackout dates) but we are heading the DLR next week to buy some princess costumes for my girls for Purim. I read on the AP description page that the premier pass has a 10% merchandise discount at select locations, but I can't find a list of which locations. Does anyone know of a list or if somewhere that has a good selection of princess gear has the discount?

I'm trying to do the math and see if it is likely I will get back a fair amount of the upgrade cost.

Thanks!

You should be able to log into the AP area on disneyland.com, and if you click on Discounts...well, actually, for inside the parks it just shows "most merchandise locations". Though it does show that World of Disney in DTD gives the 10% discount with the Premium pass.

But gosh...I think you would have to spend a huge amount on dresses in order to get that difference back! Now if you *want* the unlimited days that's one thing...but to only get it for the discount on merchandise...

Thanks! I think I'm going to call tomorrow. If they credit what I paid for the parking pass then the Premire is $196 more. The other thing is that I'm planning on buying a pass for my mother's helper this summer so I need to figure that in, too. (But it comes out of the schooling budget since I'm homeschooling, LOL.)

You know, I was doing the math with the Deluxe price. So it probably won't work too well. Likely I'll upgrade this summer to a Deluxe, but there is no discount so no rush.

There is another option that is available only at DLR.
Southern California residents can do a monthly installment plan for AP.

I bought one for me that is deluxe and I paid for a one day ticket then a monthly fee of under $40. You pay about 3 days after your get this set up then once each month. When I upgrade my friend's account I will continue to pay for the cheaper passport but will pay for the one he has.

You might be able to upgrade on that monthly payment plan, not sure but worth a try.

Just so people know, I have a premium pass and for merchandise discounts you get 10% off any purchase over $10 in all the Disney run stores. Basically the one's that are out are the one's that are traditionally kept out of discounts like the Crystal Shop on MS, Glass shop in NOS, Jewel of Orleans, the Herald shop and similar. All the the other shops are in, including some shops in DTD. You also get good food discounts, and free parking.

You need to decide what upgrade works for you, but you will get your parking added to any upgrade that includes parking. So you could get your $12 applied to adding parking on a deluxe or a Premium pass.

Thanks for the info! We keep kosher so we don't eat most of the food and I figure I would have to spend $1960 to make the discount pay for the upgrade. But then you have to factor in which blackout days I would go. I'll figure it out by Monday! LOL

Just so you know you can always upgrade only one pass now and get the discount you need and then decide from there. Either way have a great trip!!

Off topic- I wonder if Disney offers Kosher offerings?? I am very curious about that now.

They have some kosher things and you can order kosher meals at a couple places, but I just pack a cooler and we picnic at Hungry Bear Restaurant. (Which is the PERFECT place with little kids because there is only one exit, a huge bathroom and the ducks keep them occupied while you eat.)

Disneyland gets their Kosher meals from an outside source. You need to contact Disneyland at least 24 hours ahead of time. The meals are wrapped and frozen then sent to Disneyland where they are nuked. Silverware is included and is kosher also. Kosher meals are available at most table service restaurants. Usually there are 3 or 4 offerings such as salsbury steak dinner.

Disneyland serves Lays chips which are OU and the original is gluten and soy free.

Since you have the parking permit on your so cal AP, your estimate is better than mine! I was noticing a 255 difference, meaning $2550 in princess gowns to make that discount pay for itself! Yikes! :upsidedow

If you buy something at the World of Disney in DTD using your Disney Visa card, you get 10% off all purchases over $50.

I've also gotten the Disney Visa discount when I've ordered over $50 worth from delivEARS.

You actually don't even have to use the Disney Visa to pay; you just have to show it to them to get the discount.

I do not know if they are still open but they used to have deep discounts and is run by Disney. It is a great place for shopping cheap.

Yes, they are still open, and just for clarification, they are not owned or run by Disney. They are owned by AMS, a liquidation company.

I actually looked the outlet up and the Pomona one is the same distance from us as Disney. We were at a field trip to a farm and I saw it on the freeway coming home.

I think I'm going to do the upgrade and then everyone will get Disney stuff for birthdays. LOL Plus I can then just get my mother's helper a ticket or two over the summer when we wouldn't have otherwise been able to go.

Of course, now I need to look into the Visa. We use our AA card to get miles, but maybe that would be a better idea. If I can get the card in time. I've put this off and Purim is in two weeks. Yikes!
