I am looking to upgrade to an AP during our trip during the next few weeks. We are considering going next year, but not completely sure, thus, I am thinking of upgrading just mine from a hopper.

If I upgrade just mine, can I buy hoppers at a reduced rate for the rest of my family or do you get a deal on them?

If they offer special tickets like for the Halloween event or Candlelight can I purchase tickets with my AP for the rest of the family if they do not have one?

You don't get a discount on park hopper tickets with an AP, but you are able to buy special event tickets (such as Mickey's Halloween Treat) at a discounted rate and before the general public. If there is a limit for buying these, I'm not sure - but it probably wouldn't be less than 6.

Every now and then they'll offer a special for a/p's to puchase tickets/ hoppers. For example, in Oct. they offered $20 off a 2 day hopper. But, its not often enough that I would buy an a/p just for that perk. You never know when they are going to make that type of offer, and its usually for a short time period.
