AP purchase with gift card

I'm sure this has been answered before but I can't find it
Can disney gift cards be used as partial payment for APs, and the balance paid with cash? Can this be done online? Or at the resort? Or only at the parks? Thanks

Yes. You can do it online. I always transfer my Disney Reward Dollars to a gift card and use those to pay for my annual passes. You can also make partial payments. I usually transfer my reward dollars in "even increments". Last year, my APs were just over $700. I paid $700 using the gift card and paid the balance with a credit card. I would guess that you would be able to do the same thing at the resorts and parks.

I looked online and didn't see a place for gift cards, only credit cards. I will look again.

My wife tried to use several gift cards that we had accumulated to pay for our AP's. The issue she ran into was that MS accepts only two forms of payment for AP's. The CM suggested her go to a Disney Store to convert all the gift cards we had into one. At the store, the CM had some problems converting the cards. It was more work than was necessary, but it worked out in the end.

that is exactly what I was looking for I guess. I didn't know that you could combine several into one. I will go to the disney store to take care of that.

Please post back and let us know if the combination of numerous cards into one works. I tried the same thing at the store in NYC and was told no, I had to call.

I called the guest services number and was once again told no it was not possible, only in WDW. I even called the number on the back of the gift cards. I would rather have all the money on one card. It is a nice way to save for a trip, but a pain when trying to make the final transactions.

At the store we were told that it wasn't possible to convert to one card. We were persistent and finally the CM call the help desk.
