AP popcorn buckets

Are they all sold out? How about the drink cups? We don't arrive until the end of August. Was hoping to get one or both.

I still noticed the popcorn buckets on Friday but I didn't look for the drinks. The AP popcorn and drink event is suppose to run until September so I should suspect they will still have them in stock but you never know for sure. Good luck.

The popcorn buckets were sold out since early July according to the updated page information (also states in the fine print the buckets aren't for sale anymore). I definitely didn't see a single bucket for sale on Friday (or Thursday night) and I searched specifically for them.

Was really disappointed to discover that . Especially seeing all the buckets around the park being carried by other passholders. Wrote the Facebook AP page letting them know I was sad.

The MWM drink cups are definitely still available, though.

Since the cups are available for all guests (not just AP), I imagine they only still have them because they can in theory still sell them even past the end date of the promo event if they have extra.

Right!? Plus running out with two months left of the promotion.

I'm really curious the behind the scenes details. Did they just not order enough? Were people able to buy multiple per pass? Did they intend only a finite number of passholders to be able to take advantage?

That said, I had some incredibly magical moments this trip that more than made up for the loss of the bucket so while I'm still bummed, I'm far less bummed than I was when I made my previous post.

I actually thought they did the drink offer because the sales for the Made with Magic cups weren't go so well. Those things are expensive (about $25.00, give or take depending on where it's purchased) and they debuted last summer, so the first rush of guests that wanted them, probably already got them. Given that they weren't created/made for the AP promotion like the popcorn buckets, I was thinking this was a way for DLR to try and clear out some inventory.

Agreed on that as well regarding the cups. I believe it's a combination of many factors including some we may not even think of.

I agree that they are trying to push those cups because they didn't sell well. We wouldn't even buy them with the AP perk because they are just too big/unwieldy! We just returned yesterday and didn't realize they were sold out of AP buckets. People kept asking where we bought ours and I kept saying a the popcorn carts.....that sure wasn't helpful. I ate a ton more popcorn this trip than I ever would have at $4.25/small box. I may have overdosed on it! HA!

Today, July 19th they had AP Popcorn buckets available in California Adventure. I did not see any in Disneyland.

What?! Those were definitely not there when I looked for them Thursday night through Friday. Gave up after I read on the offering page they stopped selling them . The Facebook AP page even confirmed for me there were none available.

Now I'm really bummed and feel lied to. Unless maybe they decided to finally make more?

I keep reminding myself I hate the Pop Secret popcorn, though. All I wanted was the bucket. But it's overpriced for getting just the bucket.

Doesn't matter much. I won't be back by the time the deal ends anyways.

I get a head start on the family this trip due to a meeting so I have my target acquired for my arrival Friday....first stop DCA for Soarin' FP and the AP popcorn bucket quest! If not there then off to DL to press the new Star Wars quarters for the 8 year old (who arrives the next day with mom)...and to find the elusive bucket...wish me luck...

We have the WOC cup from the very first public WOC Dessert Party in March, so I will bring it (the insert only) along with me this trip.
