We will have our AP voucher when we arrive at the Polynesian in July. Will we be able to use that voucher as proof for our AP discount for check-in or will we need to have it activated first?? Where do we go to activate it??

The voucher is fine, just make sure you have it with you :) To activate it you go to any of the 4 parks main gates, it only takes a few mins to take care of.

Technically, no the voucher is not acceptable; however, I've used my voucher on two seperate occasions without any trouble checking in. In fact, they rarely ask to see my AP, so a voucher would be a step up for most of the CM's!

I have been asked both times I am on AP discounts to present it, you do not want to be without the voucher it could be embarresing and costly. They accepted it twice understanding that people do not go to the parks first they check in thier hotel.

The quickest park to get the voucher validated at is Epcot. Have a great trip. The line is usually nonexistant.

Actually, the closest place to get a voucher exchanged for the Poly is at the ticket booths at the TTC.

Demosthenes and Patrick IL. are both right. The official Disney written policy is that an active AP must be presented at checkin. However, many many folks have reported that the voucher was accepted at checkin while many others said no proof of any kind was asked for. To further complicate the process, there have also been some folks who were told they had to go activate the voucher and then come back to the resort front desk and show the activated AP.

You would avoid any problems by having the active pass at checkin. But if you don't, it isn't the end of the world.

I have never been asked to show my AP (Contemporary & Grand Floridian). But, when you do get it activated, DO NOT go to the Magic Kingdom to have it done! They have the longest lines, and we waited what seemed like forever to get it done! There was even a guy who refused to wait in line who stood at the exit until a window opened, and he went up to it. The CM told him that he had to wait in line, and he said that he would not; and it ended up that 3 CM's had to deal with him, until one of them finally gave in and did what he wanted. So, the guy held up the line (CM's weren't taking more people to help because they were dealing with him) and it ended up that everyone stood still in line for 15 minutes until a CM agreed to help him!
