AP plus 5 day park hopper question

My daughter has an AP. She is taking a sociology class with her college about Disney in January. They will be spending a week at Disney. Their trip includes lodging at Pop Century, a quick service dining plan, and a 5 day park hopper. As far as I know they have not been instructed to create MDE accounts (which she, or course, already has). So currently her park hopper ticket is not attached to her existing MDE account.

My question is.....would it be possible for her to use her AP magic band for park entrance and FPs and possibly save the 5 day park hopper for a later trip where she can bring a friend or family member? She could still use her magic band from her class for the dining plan and room key. Has anyone else had any experience with a situation like this? Any thoughts or wisdom would be appreciated!

She can absolutely save her PH for use at a later date. If she currently has a MB she can also that for her room and dining plan (provided the reservation is linked to her MDE account) as well as the new one she'll receive for her reservation.

Perhaps the ticket is a specially-discounted one issued for group purchase. In that case it would probably have a short expiration date. DD needs to have more info about the ticket.

Agreed.

In fact, it would be less than likely for this kind of trip to include standard MagicYourWay tickets,
and more than likely for them to be "special" tickets with properties
and limitations unlike MagicYourWay.

We just don't know, for sure, without more information.

Unfortunately she hasn't gotten any more information about the ticket. This is the first time her college has done this class. When she went to the informational meeting before their Christmas break, she understood more about what they would be doing, and where they would be staying, than the professor. When he realized that she was a Disney veteran, he kept looking to her to verify that what he was saying was correct. She had to correct him a couple of times.

I'm concerned that this was a special package that was purchased for their group and probably has a 14 day expiration on the park hopper.

This is a 3 week course. The first week is online, second week is at WDW, and the third week is also online. Hopefully she will get more information during her first week of class. She only needed one sociology credit for her major, and this seemed perfect for her! I told her I may be following along during her online portions of the class just out of curiosity and because of my need for Disney knowledge:)

Have to agree it depends on the actual ticket that's included in her package.

As an example, DS had an AP when he went on his senior trip. I was hoping I would be able to save that package ticket & apply it to his next AP renewal (he would have used his AP for the trip & left the package tix unused) but no such luck. Unfortunately I had no choice but to pay for something I didn't need.

The "special" package ticket had very specific dates for which it was valid & had all sorts of restrictions placed on it.

Often, any sort of group event has a "special" ticket attached to it but you wont know for certain until she has the ticket in hand.
