AP pass question

O.K. When it came time for my renewal in Feb, I had thought that we were only going to go to WDW this summer, and next summer so it made sense to get the renewal rate. Now, we're thinking of making the trip down for Easter next year and having an Annual with a July 05 expiration looks enticing, rather than one with a Feb 05 expiration. I haven't yet activated the renewal vouchers, so my question is.... Can I take the vouchers to a Guest Services Window and trade the value of the renewal in for AP's that will expire next summer? I know I'll have to pay the additional amounts, but I thought it might be a better idea.

I thought that the new policy was that renewals activated as soon as the original AP expired? So, even though you have renewal "vouchers", the time is already ticking on them if your old AP has expired...

OK - I need to learn how to read - I just reread your post, and the stuff I typed above doesn't answer your question - sorry!

Can you access the Annual Passholder site to see if they have it in their FAQ?

Yes, that's correct, my expiration would be Feb 04, even though I haven't used it yet. All Ireally want to do is return the vouchers and then buy brand new AP's. I called WDW and was give like four different numbers and no one can give me a straight answer. If I have to wait until we get to WDW next Saturday, then I will. I really wanted to make my Easter ressies now, since we're DVC members, but if I have to wait two weeks, I guess I'll have to.

No you can't. You're asking to trade it for the same ticket. Disney only allows upgrades.

And even if you happened to find the one CM who says sure, you won't get full credit on it since your renewal started running back in February even though you haven't turn in the voucher. By the time you go in July you would have lost 5/12ths of the value of the renewal and you will have to pay the full price for the new AP. You won't get a renewal price on it.

Think of it like this: you go to Disney for a week and bought a UPH, then decided to stay a second week. You didn't visit a theme park or any gated attraction during the first 5 days of that week even though you had the UPH. Does Disney allow you to change that now and get a free one to run from day 5 to day 12?

Of course as with all things Disney, nothing is etched in stone. It can't hurt to try what you want but be prepared to be turned down.
