AP "packages" question.

Hello.

I booked a package for October with annual passes (instead of tickets) for my family today. I tried doing this a few weeks ago and was not able to do it but today it now allowed it. When i added up the cost of the room and the cost of APs, the package price is exactly the same as those. I thought the room rate would be the AP rate for a room plus the cost of the APs. Does this make sense to anyone? Its not until October so I know AP rates arent out for that time. When they are released would they re-price my package? Or should I just cancel and wait for AP rates? I wanted a package so i could start paying on it as a way to budget. Thanks!

AP rates are not always available for all hotels, dates and room types either. We booked the room as room only and APs separate because that gives a bit more flexibility to look for AP rates in the weeks leading up to the trip—room only you can cancel up to 5 days ahead. Also with room only you can often get a “savvy traveler” discount which is helpful if the AP rate never becomes available for the hotel we want.

I have found the AP rates have been a better discount for dates I usually have
But they go quickly and I don’t always get them.

Usually the old stay more save more is more abundant to get
It’s a 10% discount but better then nothing

I booked my room for the fall and only discount I could find was the savvy traveler (prior name for SMSM)

In all my last trips, I usually book my room around 3 months out but not anymore.
I’ll adjust my reservation costs when and if a better discount comes available.
