AP or 2-day PTP tickets?

I was just looking at the US website and from what I can see, the Power Pass AP is 189.99 right now, and the 2-day park to park tickets are 194.99?!?

So now I am looking at this option over just regular tickets, because it looks cheaper and with more benefits

Is there any one with any experience with this AP?
I know the dates we are travelling are not in the blackout dates listed.

Also we are looking at staying at the Hard Rock for a night before our flight home, and it looks like the AP offers a discount for on site hotels.

Am I reading all this correct?!? it seems too good to be true, an AP for cheaper than the cost of a 2-day ticket?

Any info or insights would be Greatly appreciated!!

You still might want to look into getting an annual pass. I saved over 100 dollars a night at the portofino using mine which more than paid for the pass.

I was just looking at the Non-Florida rates, its 214.99, so still not too bad, and it gives us an excuse to check out HP for the extra early hour on our check out day of the hotel!
So a discount on hotel as well as a third day does look like it may make up the price difference.

Is there any other restrictions to the Power Pass compared to regular tickets except the blackout dates?

I have the preferred so I can't comment on the power pass. I assume that the blackout days are the only difference between the regular tickets.

you also get the free garage parking after the ap is actived with the preferred but not the power pass.
and, no food or merch discount in the parks or city walk with the power pass

But if you have AAA or pay with AmEx, you get a discount on most food and merchandise purchases over $50. This does not work at the carts, only at the restaurants, I believe.

Can one adult, say me, purchase the AP, then book the hotel, HRH, with the AP discount if available.
Then buy regular tickets for the others, and all of us stay at the hotel and use the express passes from the hotel for our days at the park?

Yes. Only one person in the room needs to have an AP. Everyone registered in the room will get express passes.

as long as the date you plan to stay has the APH rate available at time of booking, yes you can do that.


you'll pay an extra $25 for the 3rd adult per night but all 4 of you can stay onsite in the room.

preferred ap does allow you to purchase park tickets with a discount.
if you order online, you need your ap #.
at the gate, show the ap to buy then.

The APH room rates don't appe to be up yet for our September trip, so I still have some time to weigh our options it appears.

Another AP question,
If I purphase the Preferred Pass, can the merch and food discount work for the 4 of us, if I pay for everything?

Also, if I purchase the Annual Photo Connect package, can I get a second Photo Connect card at the park in case our group splits up?

i don't expect the september ap rates to come out until mid april.
that's when i usually see the early oct dates appear.

you can always book now and then modify the room rate when the ap rates are available.
i book 11 months out then modify when ap is released.

yes, the preferred ap will allow you a 10% discount on food and merch.

you pay for it all and have your group pay you their portion if you want to work it that way.

i don't buy the photo package so can't help you with that.
