AP news: discounted park tix for friends!

Just got off the phone with AP relations (to renew my sig pass with MaxPass (woo hoo!!)). They explained that there's a new policy that just went into effect a few days ago. AP holders are now allowed to purchase discounted tix for up to two guests on the day of their visit (earning as much as a 40% discount). The tix must be park-hoppers, however. This works out perfectly because I have some friends visiting in about five weeks and I've been trying to get them free/discounted tix for awhile. I managed to get them free tix for the Monday (a friend who's a CM will take care of us). But that's only good for Monday -- Sundays in July are blacked out for CM guests. Consequently, Sunday we have to work out on our own, so this is perfect timing! .

A few people have told me that your guests have to be with you when you purchase the tix. I spoke with Guest Services this morning and they explained that they do not, in fact, have to be with you at the ticket booth. Tix, however, must be used on the day of purchase. There's also a limit of two. I have friends coming next month, so this is a blessing .

I bought two on the 16th. My guests did not have to be with me to purchase but they did ask for their names and wrote them on the tickets, which was printed with my name on them. You also all have to enter together the first time. It's such a great deal...I wanted to cry having to pay the regular PH price when my teen daughter decided to go with us at the last minute.

On the 40% off friends and family ticket for APs, it says a limit of 2. Because it is only good on the day of sale, I assume that is 2 per day not 2 total during the promo offer, but I just wanted to make sure!

It's two per day in the fine print, and I know of one friend who's posted twice on FB that she's gotten different pairs of friends tickets - so that seems to confirm the "two per day" since she was alone with them.

It is only good on the day of sale because they are only good on days the purchaser’s AP is not blocked out. That’s probably the easiest way for them to track that.

I’m so happy they’re doing this deal! My mom and aunt will Be coming with me next week using these tickets! My mom hasn’t been since 2011 and is so excited! She even made a list of all her “can’t miss” rides lol

They have an offer going through Friday (6/29) for their AP holders (Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, & premier) to treat a friend for $79 plus tax for a one day park hopper.

Thank you. I thought I’d heard something to that effect, but couldn’t find confirmation anywhere. Unfortunately we are not there until August.
