We did 4/3 last Jan. and got $200. gift cards and only had to buy a 1 day pass. This new promo is a dud for me. I don't want to have to put out for passes I won't need for 2 years, not in this economy! The savings over AP rates (should they be offered) does not pay IMHO. I sure hope AP discounts come out early since 4/3 did. Happy for those that can use 4/3 but it's not for me.:headache:

I, too, think the deal is not that great - for most people. Deluxe people will make out pretty good, but that's not us. I'm hoping the deal was early to give them time to release a free dining offer in a few months if this one doesn't fill the rooms.

I also would like to see a great AP rate come out really early since 4/3 is offered. Maybe we will see something after the first of the month, historically the rates for January havn't been released this early, but one can always hope.

Try not to worry about it! With the variety of discounts Disney's been offering for the last year, I'm sure all of us planning a trip will find something that works for us in 2010. 4/3 doesn't work for our Jan trip (both for tickets and because we can't stay 7 nights!) but we booked at a moderate specifically to take advantage of the great AP or FL res rates that are usually offered for them. Looking forward for those rates to be released so we can save moola!

I suspect the economy is not quite as bad this year as it was last year, which explains the shorter, more restrictive promo. It's still a great deal for us as non-AP holders, but it's not as good as last year. I would have loved the $200 GC.

It doesn't work for us, either. Hoping for a good AP rate to come out!

And big reason it doesn't work, is we like split stays. By the time our 4th or 5th night is up, we're ready for the next resort!

Well, you can always factor in that you can use the ticket you have to buy toward renewing your AP - so it's kind of like partially prepaying your AP in a way.

I have a 10 day stay booked for late January currently at the AAA rate. I could book the 4/3 for the same dates and save about 300.00, not counting the value of using the ticket to upgrade toward my AP renewal. I'm just not sure whether I should go with that, or hang in there hoping for a good AP rate. When you go back and forth between room only and package, they have to actually cancel one reservation and book another, which they don't have to do when they switch your room only from one code to another. I'm not sure the risk of losing the resort I want is worth it.

I'd rather just have a good AP rate, and the fewer restrictions that go along with the reservation. Here's hoping they come out soon! :wizard:

For us, it would be pretty much of a wash as we would have to take all 7 nights with Regular dining and we are set up with 2 ressies, one with 4 QS followed by one with 3 Reg. dining. Don't need that many TS meals. Also, we won't need to buy another AP until Jan. 2012 and I would rather not spend all that money to break even and have it sit there. If they had offered the 1 day ticket or $200 Gift certificate, maybe.:3dglasses Come on AP discounts!:cheer2:

I called the other day and was told a price 900.00 MORE then the package I already have and paid for!! NO THANK YOU....I have a AP SO i AM NOT BUYING 5 DAY TICKETS.....

That's a very good point!

Since we prefer values/mods and use an AP this really is not beneficial for us either. I'll be passing on it and hoping for a good AP rate especially since we are looking to go in the Spring and Fall for F&W.
