AP holder park reservations

AP holders, I just reached out to Disney asking them to do away with the required park reservations especially for those staying at an onsite hotel. I encourage the rest of you to do the same and maybe we can get rid of this stupid and unnecessary requirement.

I agree it's not difficult to make a park reservation, but it should be canceled altogether and not just for resort guests.

It would also be nice to have the coast-to-coast AP back.

I've messaged them before regarding this. I find it difficult because I don't know precisely which park I want to visit each day. I would like to come and go freely.

Or just make a reservation and change it as needed. It takes about 5 seconds to do and they almost never run out unless it is a super busy holiday. I can understand Disney's need to estimate attendance for staffing.

Unfortunately in the past the park I wanted to switch to wasn't available now. It's a little better now, but it shouldn't be something I need to think about when staying on property.

Out-of-state AP holder here. I've messaged them about this in the past as well, not that it had any effect. It doesn't make any sense to me that someone with a date-based ticket isn't required to make park reservations but that an AP holder staying on-site must.

That being said, I've never had any problem changing my park reservation at the last minute.

First time AP. I find this annoying too. Wish this wasn't necessary especially while staying on property.

I don't mind the reservations but the park specific is stupid since we can just park hop anyway.

I have to make them when I use my ancient non-expiring tickets. Used up DD's remaining 2 days last week; was able to change her Friday reservation from Epcot to DHS the day before.

I still have 8 days left on my NE ticket so continue to make them. Not sure what the point is anymore.

General park attenendance so they can run miniumum necessary CMs and crowd control on holidays and for debuts/closings of attractions.

If it wasn’t already bad enough needing to make park reservations staying onsite, these 2 made it extra annoying:

Good to go days. After all the nonsense of reserving parks, a week or two before our trips they make half the days Good to Go anyway. Great! Let the parks get packed after making my family jump thru all these loops.

After they change days of your trip Good to Go - you can no longer change what park you reserved in MDE. If you decided to go to a different park instead, you will still see the old reserved park at the top of your day in MDE (there is no way to change or remove it after they make it ‘good to go’). As if things are not complicated enough, as you look through your upcoming plans it will state the wrong park than what your actual plans are.

It was a pain for me when I held a magic key at Disneyland and it took away the spontaneous visits I used to enjoy.

I have a California resident ticket now with two days left and I’m having a terrible time getting reservations for the days I want. So, I feel your pain but I also know it’s much much easier for reservations in WDW. I only had one trip where I had to make them over there.

Yes that is odd. Especially since they did away with the park hop time restriction. We still have it in CA so I guess it makes sense.
