Our grandaughter (5) will be staying with us for the summer. Is it wrong to get her a Florida resident AP? She doesn't have a driver's license!

Good question that I do not honestly know the answer to.

If the child must be a dependent resident--then yes it would be wrong.

Other than that--I haven't dug that far into what their policy is.

I'm thinking that if I can't claim her on my taxes, then I probably can't do it. I'd probably be able to "get away with it." But, I want to do what is right.

that's what I am thinking as well. Why I mentioned dependent.

However--I'm not sure there policy is written as that. Maybe children living in household. And whether or not it is a stretch--if she is staying for an extended period of time--then she is residing with you.

Well, each adult can prove residency. For my 13-year old, they didn't ask. I'm thinking that it's probably not right.

When I buy my daughters APs all they ask to see is my FL DL.

If you use your address for her, you should have no problem. Is it right...I would call that a gray area. I don't see a problem with it as she is your granddaughter and living with you for an extended time frame.
