Has anyone ever booked Animal Kingdom lodge or Wilderness lodge using Annual Pass or DVC discount?

i know the discounts can change but roughly how much was the discount?

We got an AP rate at AKL, but it was several years ago. I think the current AP discount for AKL and WL is around $70 per night.

AP Discounts vary by season.
For a deluxe they vary between $71 to $80 per room/night.

i have never bought a Annual pass before as we have previously booked through travel agents. I am looking into trying to DIY to save a bit of money.

Do annual passes have days when they cannot be used or is it simply 365 days a year? i am hoping that i can also maybe get 2 years out of it

Annual Passes are what it says on the tin - 365 days access to the parks. (plus water parks, DQ and PI for the Premium Annual Pass) :)

You can buy the passes over the phone direct from Disney. You receive a bright green voucher that you exchange for your actual pass at any Guest Relations window either in the parks or DTD. Your year starts from when you exchnge the voucher and activate the pass. You don't need the AP or voucher to get the discounts when booking, but you may be asked for them when you check in.

I would recommend using DreamsUnlimited to book your WDW accommodation. They provide an excelent service and will apply the AP rates to your booking for you:

DREAMSUNLIMITED

I think the DVC discount is around 20-25% but is not available at all times and ONLY on DVC properties; so maybe on Villas at Wilderness Lodge but not the Lodge itself.

We got about 40% off at AKL in 2004 so was about $120 a night discount and last year at YC we got 25% off which was $100 a night discount.

Yes it was an AP discount, and to be honest I haven't seen 40% again since its more like 25% these days.
