I would like to plan a quick trip either in Nov or early Dec. I've been waiting for AP rates. Any ideas when they might be released?

Keep an eye on Mousesavers.com, it usually will give a "heads up" on discounts.

I would book something that you can afford now, without a discount, just in case, as a back up. Then when/if anything is released you can change.

Just announced but not yet on Disney.com:
AP Nights Fall
*valid dates: 10/10/04 - 12/16/04 (travel completed by 12/17/04)

Grand Californian Hotel
Weekday: $189
Weekend: $229
Disneyland Hotel
Weekday: $139
Weekend: $159
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
Weekday: $119
Weekend: $139

Call fast - they are booking up!

If you don't get the rate through Disney, right now Expedia is running about the same for Paradise Pier and about $20 a night more for DLH. Just booked for November on Expedia and got an average nightly rate of $161 a night for the DLH for the weekend of November 4-8. I think the deal for Paradise Pier was $131 a night for the average over those 4 nights.

AND January rates have been announced (although still not posted at Disney.com!):
AP Nights JANUARY
*valid dates: 01/02/05 - 01/31/05 (travel completed by 02/01/05)

Grand Californian Hotel
Weekday: $159
Weekend: $179
Disneyland Hotel
Weekday: $99
Weekend: $119
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
Weekday: $79
Weekend: $99

Sierra Nevada,

Where are the dates announced? How did you know about the January dates. I found this out today when a friend called to book 1/2-1/4!! We got 2 nights for $99 per night at DL hotel.

We are going to stay there in Jan. and just stay with my parents in Oct. when we go.

You really can't beat those rates.

Susan

Do you have to already hold an AP to make the ressie? I was thinking of upgrading on the first day at the parks to AP's - or do we need it ahead of time?

They usually ask for it when you check in. Not sure how they would handle it if you have a park hopper and were going to upgrade that first day.

Any know?
