Do AP Discounts work on character dining?

I will be upgrading my pass after our holiday trip in December.
For the past few months i have been going back and forth with choosing which pass.
Now i think i will more than likely go with the Sig+ if i can get discounts on character dining as well.

Is there any dining this excludes?

We are a group of 14 who will be eating at Storytellers and minnies. So a 20% would pay the difference of the ticket.

Can i also use when using vouchers to pay?

Yes. But it is only 15% with the 2 signature passes and 10% for all other passes.
20% discount is signatures merchandise and 10% all other passes.

When we were dining 8 people, it pretty much bought us one free meal every time we used the discount and ate together.

I was searching on the board for a previous question and couldn't find it. After posting i found it. I can just go online the Disney website and just check if they take AP discount.

Thanks Anyways

ETA: I am curious to know if i can use it when i pay with dining vouchers?

PP answered the discount question but I wanted to address the voucher part. If you have dining vouchers, the discount is not really relevant. They are dining vouchers, not gift cards. It doesn't matter the price for the meal as they will not give you money back from the voucher if the meal you use it for technically costs less than the "value" of the voucher. You may have heard of folks using the dining vouchers for non-character dining but they just apply the value of the voucher to the bill- if your bill is less than the value, they won't give you the difference.

I am familiar with the vouchers as we get them every year when we book through Costco. We always use them towards Goofys.
This year we will not be going to goofys and instead will do story tellers dinner in place of it. I was going to use some of the vouchers towards the cost of storytellers.

Say our total is $500. Will they give calculate the 15% off the $500 and then i can decide how many vouchers to use. Or will they take the vouchers first and only give a discount on the remaining balance due?

I see. Sorry, I didn't realize you wanted to mix the vouchers and regular payment. I'm not really sure what they would do in this case, sorry. I would think the AP discount would apply to the whole bill regardless of "payment" type but this seems like it could be one of those "grey area" things where it could even vary CM to CM how they process it....

Yea im guessing it will be up to the CM each time. I am hoping i can use the AP discount then use the vouchers that way i can use one less voucher and our total will be less than if they take the vouchers off then discount on the rest.

If you have a voucher for Goofy's, and you paid with said voucher, no discount is given. If you are using the voucher as cash elsewhere, I *think* you can get the discount. But if it is a character meal voucher, and you are using it at a character meal, the answer is no.

I have or will have 14 premium vouchers. If i use at Goofys then i hand them all over and thats that. But i will be doing dinner buffet at Story tellers ( no characters) and using some of the vouchers to pay,but not the full bill. We will then use the remaining vouchers for either Storytellers brunch or minnies Plaza (characters). will using a premium voucher at a character meal make a difference?

What is killing me is last year we had reg character vouchers that we used for PCH grill dinner ( no characters) and i paid the remainder with my visa for 10% off but i can't remember if it was off the whole bill or not. I didn't do it on purpose either or trying to get a deal. I had two vouchers left and used them for dinner for 4 people so i didn't pay much attention to how it all went down.

but 15% off for a bill for 14 people will be a good discount.

I can't answer you questions, but I'm curious about the vouchers...are they that much cheaper than their "value" that it's worth buying them? From what I've read, the adult Premium Vouchers are worth $49 if used outside of the character meals (cannot be used to alcohol). How much do they cost to buy?

I did not buy them. When you book with Costco they include a premium voucher for everyone in your party. So i will be getting these free with our package( well obviously not really free).
