Never looked into an ap pass until now that we are going the wk of Xmas. Since room discount is not coming out thinking to purchase one annual pass. The cm said can get 3 rooms for discount, is she right or am I going to face issues at check in for doing this? We are looking for discounts on dec 22, 23, 24 and 25 but I think ap rates only go till 24?

For package deals (like free dining or kids free), as long as you check-in during the promotion period, you get the promotion applied to your entire stay.

For room-only discounts (such as AP), they will apply the discount to the days that are available for the promotion. So, if the 22, 23 and 24 are available for the promotion, those will be discounted and the 25 will we full rack rate.

Also, you should call to verify that your room type is available for the AP discount on your dates. Room availability is scarce for the AP discount.

I've been checking for weeks for my room type in mid December with no luck to date.

And yes, the current AP discount runs through Dec 24.

Yes, this is true, but JIC, you should call the reservation line and verify that your room type is available before purchasing the AP (Or ask someone who has an AP to check for you on the AP online site... there are many good folks here who are happy to check if you supply #of guests, resort and room type).

If room is available go ahead and book it and purchase the AP anytime prior to your arrival.

But no sense in purchasing an AP w/o verifying availability on your room type.

You would also need the current AP discount code when reserving it over the phone and without that you can't reserve it.

More than once in the last couple of weeks, I have called the regular reservation line and asked them to find out if there were rooms available at the resort I wanted, to see if I should get an annual pass or not. They were extremely helpful and checked and even offered alternative resorts that did still offer the AP discount.

I did not have the code and was not asked for it when I made my request.

There are also some amazingly helpful posters here who looked up resorts for my travelling dates when I asked about them.

I've booked AP rates before having my AP. They just ask that you get it before check in. Just did it in March 2011 at CSR.

I called this morning and the CM booked the room for me at the AP discount rate, added deluxe dining to it, and then sold me one AP and two 9 day park hoppers.

It went pretty smoothly, considering I was cancelling a CR reservation with free dining and three 9 day park hoppers and switched to CSR with an AP and two 9 day park hoppers and deluxe dining. Saved almost $1200.
