AP Discount Question

Okay, I've decided that we want to stay at WL in November and I'm thinking they will probably have an AP rate during that time period. I see the AP right right now is only Wilderness Lodge - $124 standard, $139 woods view, $175 courtyard view, which is awesome! I would settle for Standard and I'm thinking that since Nov is value season it might even be a little cheaper.

Now my question. I already have 7 day hopper plus passes for my son and I. IF AP rates come out for November, can I call and get the AP rate then when I get to WDW, scoot on over to Guest Relations at the MK and upgrade my pass before checking in? I would just pay the difference between the value of my pass and what the cost of the AP is at that point right?

I can answer part of your question:scratchin

As for making your ressie before buying your AP -- Yes, you can do that. You will need to have it with you at check in though to be eligible for the discount or they can change your rate back to the rack rate so be sure to go get one at the park first or have a voucher to show that you have purchased one through the mail.

As for will they upgrade your UPH pass - not sure that they'll do that. They may, I could be completely wrong, but my thinking is probably not because the days on the park hoppers do not ever expire so even if you buy the AP, the UPH won't expire so this may be their arguement.:confused3 Hopefully, I'm wrong on that though. If you were only trying to upgrade from say a 4day park hopper to a 7day one I'm sure they do that and just have you pay the difference because then they stand to make more $$ but unfortuneatly they stand to make even more for you to buy the AP on top of the UPH's you already have.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong -- I'd like to know for myself if I am.

HTH's - good luck and let us know how you make out!

Thanks for your reply! I know I read on the boards before that a hopper can be upgraded to an AP, but I'm not sure of the logistics of it.

Yes you can

If you purchased it from Disney, yes. If you purchased it from a wholesaler, you will only get credit for the wholesale price of the ticket that Disney sold it to the wholesaler for. You won't get credit for the wholesaler's profit margin.

You are partly right for the wrong reason. ;)

If the UPH is purchased as part of a Disney package plan like Dream Maker, it is not upgradeable. If the UPH is added to a room only reservation or is purchased at resort check in, it can be upgraded.

BTW, the OP did not say she had UPH's. She has a 7 day PHP.

If they even ask for the AP at check-in, they will allow you a 24-hour grace period in which to obtain the pass and show it at the front desk. So don't sweat about having it at initial check-in.

Cool! That's good to know. Now if I can just figure out (before I go) how much my passes are worth since they were purchased from a broker I would be really happy...but that's not possible.
