I booked 2 connecting rooms at CSR-Nov. 20-29. The CM told me that I will be able to apply the AP discount, when it is released, to both rooms because it's for a family and will count as 1 rather than 2 reservations. What do y'all think? She seemed knowledgeable and, of course, I want her to be right.

Hmmm, not sure about AP codes and connecting rooms, so I'll bump this back to the top and hopefully someone has info on this. But I hope they told you that connecting rooms are always just a request (see previous post below by katieeldr and TheRustyScupper)

Nothing 100% guarantees connecting rooms - not even a sole adult with more minors than can be accommodated in one room (although if there is only one set of connecting rooms left, this party is more likely to get it than the party with two adults and multiple children).

1) No room style or view is ever guaranteed.
2) This includes connecting rooms.
3) There are just too many reasons why the rooms are not available to you.
4) They will try to keep the request, but it is NEVER guaranteed.

NOTE: In many cases, it says "guaranteed" on the ressie confirmation, but this is not so. I have seen several people raise a stink at check-in when their connecting rooms did not materialize. Fortunately, after 2-3 days, they can usually be moved in such rooms.

If an AP rate is offered this year, your ability to modify your res will be based on availability of an AP discount at that resort - you might have to switch resorts to get any discount.

Also last year the dates of Nov 21-24 were excluded from AP rates at non-DVC resorts due to the Thanksgiving holiday, so be prepared that might be the case this year also.

HTH! :cutie:

Thank-you. If everything remains the same, then this year's excluded dates will be Nov. 26th-3oth because Thanksgiving is a week later than 2007.

If its 2 adults and X children and its 2 rooms on one res you can do it. If its 3+ adults and X children with 2 room on 2 res's you will need 2 AP's to get both rooms discounted

can't you get more than one room with an AP? I booked 2 rooms at pop. Room one: DH, DD9, me . Room 2: DD18,DD14 The second room I had to book as a separate ressie because DD18 is technically the 3rd adult. I did request connecting or adjoining rooms. If I only have one AP, can't I apply it to DD's room? I thought you could book up to 3 rooms with AP. Anyone know for sure???

You USED to be able to book 3 rooms. Its one now. You better hope you get a happy CM at checkin

Thanks y'all. Both rooms are on 1 reservation with 2 adults and 2 children.
