AP + Dining

Sorry if this has been discussed but I can't seem to find the answer. For those that have had experience booking the DDP with an AP instead of MYW package...are you still able to benefit from the AP resort discounts to be able to get that DDP package? What are the cons?

It is available with AP discount rooms and rack rate rooms, but not general public discounts
