AP blockout day ?

is it really true that you can get into the park on a blockout day if it is the 1st day that you use your AP? I would like to get an AP, but the only night that the fireworks are showing is our 1st nite, which happens to be a day blocked out of the AP we would be buying! I want to make sure that we can use it on that day before I decide to get it, or decide on a hopper pass. Thanks!!!

Yes, just buy your AP at a ticket booth or Disney Store and you can enter the parks...then go to the bank and get your picture taken and AP. We have done this a few times when we decided not to renew our APs until we actually went to DL. This way it's like getting a "free" day ! If the CMs at the turnstiles say that it's a blockout day just show them the date on your AP. Do the parkhopper if more than 1 day is blocked out.

You can buy a regular entrance ticket, and then on your last day convert it to an AP and get full credit for your entrance ticket. This allows you to use the regular ticket for blocked out days - and get Early Entry - and then still get the AP.

I think we will just go for the AP, since the parkhopper we would need is higher priced than the AP we need. And only the 1st day is blocked out, so it's all good!!!! I love these forums, all the people here are so nice and knowledgable!!! I appreciate all the help an advice!!!
