AP Best Guest Rates released for Christmas week

For those of you who are going Christmas week, I just booked the Best Guest Rate at the Wilderness Lodge for Dec 24 - Jan 3 for $185/night plus tax for courtyard view!!!!!!!! I am soooooo happy that they finally released these dates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO US!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the last possible check-in date for this rate? We're arriving the 25th and just booked our room today and the CM told us no AP rates during that time.

We booked last night with Best Rate! Beach Club for $249 12/23-1/2-- that's more than $200 under rack rate! I'm so pleased; Beach Club was my "money is no object" resort, and now I get to stay there!

We booked Coronado Springs yesterday for arrival 12/25/05 under Best Rate and saved $800 on the rack rate

Bought the annual pass last night online, called ticket center today to get voucher number, then went online and booked our Christmas week vacation at Coronado for $94 a night....then called to cancel our previous reservation at $184 a night! WOW! I'm so excited. And then my brother and sister-in-law did the same. Our vacation together just got a whole lot better!!

We got our rate lowered too!! We were staying at CR Tower-2 rooms for a grand total of about $7500. We're now paying half that price for 2 rooms at the Poly. Had to switch resorts as CR didn't have availability for our whole stay (12/25-1/1), but it was worth it to go from paying about $560/night to $260/night per room.

Were you able to get the voucher number for the Annual Pass on the phone?And then try Best Rate plan? I am thinking of getting the annual Pass but don't have time to wait for one in the mail.We are in Canada and looking to book for the first week of January. Maybe I will try this. Thanks for a great idea. Who do you call to get the number?

I'm not Elaine, but we did just that yesterday. We called to order an AP and then asked them for the voucher number. It took a little work by the CM, who initially told us she could not give out the voucher number, but she eventually got it for us. We then went online and were able to login to the passholders site with the voucher number and got a great rate at the Poly!

gave most of you close to 50% off rack rate for holiday season. That's terrific. We're coming down during Easter (which for 2006 is Peak season) and rack rate at WL is $289/315/355 Standard/Woods/Courtyard.

If someone can get Christmas week Courtyard for $185 (rack is $395) then there is hope for me yet. We'd stay moderate, but if I can get WL at close to 50% off ($145-$175) then I'd do it in a heartbeat. I guess I can't imagine that they would think Christmas week would be less crowded or that the demand for rooms any less that they would have to offer such low rates, then offer higher rates during Easter break times. The season cost is higher for Christmas anyway.

Hope I can land something.

Did you happen to notice what the standard view rate was around those dates? We are thinking about going Jan.2-Jan.8 (which would be even lower rates), and a low rate would influence our dates decision, because currently 10-day non-expiring passes and going at another time are a better deal for us than the annual pass, but if the room savings are enough ... .

I looked up your dates (1/2-1/8) with the Best Rate at WL and standard view is $903.18 for all 6 nights, so $135/night ($150.53 w/tax).

Thanks Justhat for the information. I just booked POFQ for $111 CAA discount for Jan 1-7. If my grownup kids firm up their plans soon I am glad to know that I would not have to wait so long for an AP to arrive. Thanks again and have a great trip to the mouse!!

I looked at it this morning to check our dates 12/21-12/29 @ Pop (which we got for $526 tx included) and it showed it at $1,056. I couldnt believe it. I just did it again for those dates to see what would happen and it was back down to $526. I would say if you are an AP keep checking twice a day with your dates and see what is available. You may get lucky like we did.

Congratulations on your great rates! And for others wondering about getting the AP voucher #, just be creative if a CM tells you that you can't get it immediately. My sister-in-law called yesterday to order an AP and then asked if she could get the voucher #. The CM told her that she would have to wait 24 hours. So she politely declined purchasing the voucher. She immediately went online, ordered an AP, then called back the ticket services # (407-566-4985...open M-F 8:30-4:45, Sat. 8-4:15, closed Sunday) and requested the voucher #. They gave it to her immediately (she just had to give them the confirmation # for the purchased AP...which was on her online print out). SHe then was able to book Coronado for 7 nights..$94/night. So if you don't succeed one way...try another!! Good luck to all and have great vacations!

I tried the Best Rate today for Dec. 26 - Jan. 1 and found that there was no availability anywhere for those dates even though the instructions at the top say that the program is now available for any arrival until 2/18. Then when I put in Dec. 25, I got availability. So what is up with that?

We go June 24 -> July 8th. Which would be 14 nights
I would have to make 2 reservations. Do one for 7 nights and another for 7 nights - or do 10 nights and 4 nights ?

Do you think we'll get the great rates which are out for Christmas ?
If I remember this thread correctly - $185 WL coutyard and $249 BC not sure of view.

We have AAA rate of $279 for WL courtyard booked now under 2 reservations. I would love $185 WL or even the $249 BC (but prefer YC) - SAB my kids dream pool

I could be wrong, but I think you have to check in by 12/25, even though I haven't read that anywhere on the passholder site. My reason for thinking that is that we got a bunch of resorts available for our dates (12/25-1/1) but when we tried later dates (26th and on) a different message came up that said unavailable, different from the message we got with the 25th check-in. Of course they could just be sold out, but since you can get rooms if you check in on the 25th I don't think that is the case. But just cause it says rooms available through 2/16, doesn't mean any rooms are left for a specific date.

Pooh2001, you have to book before 120 days. Right now you can book through 2/16 (though it would only let me do 2/15, everytime I tried the 16th it said the 15th was the latest day to check-in for the best rate deal). The further out you book, the better the availability at various resorts I would imagine. For our December trip we were limited in the hotels available, but when I checked February every hotel was available. Of course, it's more crowded Christmas than Feb, but I did check President's Weekend which is pretty busy. Oh, I don't know the URL, but you just go to www.disneyworld.com and click on the 'passholders' button on the right side of the page.
