Hi all. So, we have a week long trip coming up just under 60 days from now. That’s for my daughters birthday and will have a friend coming. We also have aps.

My daughter fractured her ankle and leg 5 weeks ago, thought the boot was coming off today but we are scheduled to return for more X-rays in 4 weeks. I figure even if we can start weaning off it in 4 weeks she hasn’t walked on it for a long time and so it would be best to utilize DAS, and also she may not be able to be off it yet-won’t know until the 20th may.

So, it’s a bit too early to plan for the main trip but I was thinking to just add a couple days park reservations on so that should allow me to make the initial request, even if we end up not going to that first trip it would still be valid for the second trip under 60 days out.

My questions are, am I misunderstanding something?

Do we need her friends ticket purchased first? Or can we just add it and link to my account later?

Any tips for the video chat? My sister tried three times for her das issues and got disconnected after 6hrs each time.

A DAS is not generally issued for mobility challenges. If your child is small, a stroller as wheelchair tag would allow you to take the stroller through attractions’ lines.

Disney does not rent pediatric-sized wheelchairs, however several vendors do, These can be more comfortable than an adult-sized chair if your child is too large for a stroller is but still not adult-sized.

Disney will not permit the ECVs it rents to be used by individuals under 18; most off-site vendors use the same approach, unless the individual regularly uses equipment at home.

Safe Travels!

As the PP said das is normally not for mobility problems but if you want to let your sister know getting on right at 7 am EST works best for getting the DAS online

Sounds like a mobility issue, and DAS isn't for mobility issues. She'll need a way to get around the parks, so I second the stroller if she's small enough, or a good, comfy wheelchair if she's too big for a stroller. We had a friend in a boot use a knee scooter on our last trip, and that was really easy for her and us. There's so much more walking in the parks than just the queues, right?

Not sure I understand your ticketing questions - what are you trying to do 60 days out?

As others have said, DAS is not for mobility issues. Even if you got DAS, it would do nothing to help her get around. That is just not how it is set up. It sounds as if she will need a wheelchair, or depending on her age, a stroller that can be tagged as a wheelchair.
