AP and then there's free dining

Is there anyone out there that can help me with this?

We got annual passes last year cause we thought that it was the way to go. Now I see the free dining, tickets and stay for WAY less then we expected to pay for this years vacation. Is there no way that we can book the room and then still get the free dining and not have to pay for the tickets? I personally think that Disney has been truly unfair to passholders this year. They say buy an annual pass you will get great discounts and then they offer BETTER discounts and incentives to people that don't have an AP.

Hanncam - Purchase a one day ticket for each guest and you'll still be entitiled to get free dining. Don't use the one day pass - save it for another visit.

I agree with PTM....

You can get the 1 day tickets now and then use them in the future. On your next trip, you can bring the one day tickets to Guest Services and have them upgrade the tickets to however many days you want at the time....even annual passes. It's basically like have a $60 per ticket credit towards your next tickets.

If you aren't planning on going back or if you don't want to hold on to the tickets, sell them on eBay. You can probably get around $50 per ticket....so, you would only be out a few dollars.

We are a family of AP holders and we booked the free dining. We booked the package at rack rate, bought one-day tickets to use later and got the free dining. This is a great deal, especially if you stay at a value or moderate resort. We are not only AP holders (10+ years), but are also DVC members. We will use our one-day tickets for our renewals later.

If I have this right, one can use the AP for the room discount for any length of stay, purchase an extra set of one-day tickets for everyone in the party, then book the free dining for the entire length of stay? And you purchase the one-day tickets and indicate to your TA that you want the free dining package as soon as Disney makes the free dining offer?

You won't be able to use the AP for a room discount. You'd be booking a package with rack rate room, a one day base park ticket, and free dining. Use the AP for park admittance.
