AP and Room VS Magic Your WAY

Which is cheaper???? 7 nights and 6 hopper passes for 3 with Magic your Way package is $1,496.04............What is the difference if we booked room only then got AP tickets????

That's too little information to do an accurate price comparison. I'd need to know the configuration of your Magic Your Way tickets, (days, hopping, and/or magic plus and/or non-expiration), your resort, and your dates.

An adult annual pass is ~$421. If you've got three of those, that's ~$1260, meaning you'd have to get a room for $33/night (including taxes - before taxes your room rate would have to be ~$29/night). You will NOT get a Disney room for that price, so without any further information, my best guess is that you'd be better booking the package you quoted.

thanks! We are staying at POP for 7 nights with 6 magic your way with hopper passes for 3 adults. our total is 1496.74. I was hoping for room only reservations and then get the tickets seperately, but....nothing is coming up. ALSO, can you just ask them if you have a pin attachede to your name when calling? what if I already have reservations??? thanks for replying!

I think the ap discounts are better with the deluxe resorts. If the discount is big enough, it's worth it to get the ap. I believe only one person needs the ap to get the discount too.

If you're staying at a value, you'd have to stay a lottadays to make up the difference in room rates in order to come out ahead after buying just one AP. (And you do only have to have one AP in your party to book the room with the discount.)

Also, you can inquire about a pin/code attached to your name, and if there is one, your reservation can be modified. Good luck!

Do you mean 6 DAY magic your way passes? If so, what kind of options are on them? Are they just the base tickets?

The Tickets we purchased were Magic Your Way Base with Hopper too. If we purchased one AP then got 2 MYW w/ hoppers and a huge discount....we may be able to stay at a nicer resort for the same price???? What kinds of AP discounts are there on moderates???

I saved $1000 over rack rate. The AP will cost $156 more than the 10 day MYW ticket would have. So the dining plan would have to save us $844 to break even. That's $84 per day.

I haven't sat down with menus...it MIGHT be possible to save $84 per day on the dining plan, if you ordered the most expensive meal at each place, etc. It would cost our family of 5 $1500 for the dining plan...so to save $844, we would have to eat $2344 worth of food in 10 days...that's 243.40 per day, or $117.20 per meal or $23.44 per meal per person. You have to factor in that one of those meals per day is CS and that three people ordering food are kids. I would feel under great stress to order expensive food, getting out my calculator before ordering, etc.
