AP and check in at the Polynesian

Well, I decided to purchase an AP at our local Disney store. Now the question is how to use it. We arrive at the Polynesian on Monday, May 5th. Do I have to get it activated or does the hotel (staying in concierge) do that for us?

We did this a few years ago. We did not have a voucher though. We walked over to the TTC to get our APs and then checked in at the Poly consierge desk. I'm not sure if they will do it with the voucher. Maybe someone else can help you.

You should not have any problem checking in with the voucher. The resorts do not sell AP's and cannot activate them. That must be done at a major park ticket booth (like the TTC) or at a Guest Relations window/office.

When you check-in just show the voucher. They may or may not request you return with the actual AP once it is activated. If you do not have the voucher you will need to return with the AP so that they do not adjust your rate to the higher rack rate.

We used a childs Annual Pass to make reservations and receive the AP Discount at the Poly last May. Nobody ever asked to see the pass or a voucher, but we did receive the AP discount at check out. We did not activate the pass until we went to the park the day after we arrived.

When we checked into the WL last Christmas, we didn't have a voucher or AP as we were picking them up when we arrived. I was tired and didn't want to have to get the AP's first, so we decided to try and check in and see if they'd let us. The CM didn't ask us anything about our AP's. In fact, I don't think she even knew we had an AP rate since she asked if we wanted to purchase park passes while we were checking in.

At any rate, you can't get your AP's activated at the hotel.
