I know that this question has been asked ALOT on these boards.... my attempt to find lower priced APs is coming up empty, so I am deciding to buy the current priced APs either at the market or online. If I were to buy them online, the date they become active is the first day that we redeem them at either of the parks, correct? The reason I ask is that these will be a Christmas gift, but will be purchasing them now and holding them until Christmas. I know that the ones that you buy at the markets become valid on the first day you visit the parks.

Thanks!

Yes, the AP becomes active the first day you use it at the parks. When you activate it, make sure the expiration date is 1 year out. I've read on here that some folks have had some trouble with this due to CM error.

I can tell you that when I purchased an online gift voucher for an AP before the price increase that it had a redeem by date of 12/31/2012. I'm sure at some point during the year this changes...hopefully someone else can chime in. If you plan on activating before 12/31/2012 then you would be fine.

Not sure about the ones you buy at the market...if they did have a redeem by date I'm sure it would be printed on the card, no?

I know 2 weeks ago our local Ralph's still had the lower priced AP's. I think they also have a date of 12/31/2012.
