AP activation question and hotel rate

When looking at room prices at Universal Hotels, I saw where it might be worth my while to buy an AP since I usually go to Orlando at least twice a year and in order to get better hotel rates for our stay.

My question is this: If I buy the AP online, when does it actually become valid. I am assuming that I will have some kind of voucher to activate once I get there in June. Will it then have 365 days from that June date?

Also, online it says I must present my AP at hotel checkin. I was planning on checking in very early in the morning, like 7 am and will not have actually made it to the theme park that early. Can I show the desk a voucher or bring them proof of AP later on?

Also, does the AP include visits to CityWalk?

Thanks...we are really new to visiting US and can use all the advice we can get.

the ap becomes valid once you activate it..
meaning, the first time you use it to enter the park.

if you buy the ap today and don't use it until sept 2nd, the start date of it begins on 9/2.

when you check in, show the voucher and tell them you will show them the actual ap once you return from the park.

many do it that way.

as long as you show it during your stay, you are good on the ap rate for the room.

yes, ap valid for cw.
